ALPHA DECRIPTER wrote:RA Drahcir wrote:they didn't want you to get SP at twice the rate, they want you to play twice as much. More opportunity to die in AUR gear. If you normally play 3 days (cap after day 3) then quit and now you're complaining about dying twice as much, might I suggest you still just play 3 days. You will be making more total SP then b4 and you won't lose as much. IDK what it is with people and Capping. As far as I see it, I get to gain more SP this weak and reach my goal a whole weak early! That's a lot less grinding in my case as still getting a bunch of SP after 3-4 days instead of the 1k cap and even gaining up to 2k after the bonus is gone means I get a lot more sp then b4. Stop crying and enjoy the fact that CCP is letting you get more SP this week.
`Sigh. Just another fun game of DUST .
Yeah yeah whatever. What I am noticing though is that I am making exactly the same amount of SP as I did before, the only thing I notice is now there is twice the cap, which I will no doubt not come close to reaching. So I see nothing special about this "event". Double Sp gain, or at least increase it by 1.5 on top of boosters would have been nice. The only people they are catering to are the diehards who play far more often then me. I believe they did it because of afkers from the triple SP event, this way you kinda have to play to earn the SP. But they could have gone about it better then this. I was hoping for earning some SP this week! Double the gain of SP from WP would have been nice even, not Double the warpoints gain in battle, cause that isn't doing me any bit of good. I own those warpoints more often then not in my tank. |

RKKR wrote:MCEINSTEIN08 wrote:I noticed I never get 2x after any games, I am not understanding this?
I thought it was 2x SP and 2x CAP.
Thank you for the explanation. The CAP is 2x, the SP gain is not: You'll earn SP as normal + extra SP from the Warpoints you have gained in a battle. More WarPoints = More SP No WarPoints = same SP as usual.
Ahh I see, so instead of 7000, i get 7500. They want me to play the game more, which I refuse to do! |

Halador Osiris wrote:Why the hell are you complaining about a chance to get extra SP?
On second thought, why the hell are you complaining about a game that CCP has given to you for free.
Because I am a casual player, so I don't reach the cap most every week. Yes free but I have given them my money to show my support. We have right to question to help them improve in the future. Please stop taking this as "crying". Your feedback is not helpful in the least sir. |

Rusty Shallows wrote:Vickers S Grunt wrote:CCP how dare u give us the chance to earn 2x skill points !
I demand a respec !!!!! I think he meant to say, "the chance to grind/afk twice as long." The newsletter was a little more clear on this. They probably should have quadrupled or quintupled WP conversion to SP. I don't blame CCP for being cautious. If anything the doubled cap might finally get me to try out AFK-ing.
Exactly my point! Doubling the gain from my warpoints would be nice, usually get 1000 easy each match. Doubling the cap with hardly a boost to my SP gain means twice as many games to cap. Us casual players don't play that many games in a given week. I do work for a living after all! The biggest portion of your SP should be coming from your WP's anyways but it comes from the passive per game anyways. To those people who cap out in a day, yes this can be handy, for me though it is nothing special. |

They haven't done an event like this so many have assumed it was a 2x SP generation event like previous events. The confusion is more then understandable. |

Aquinarius Zoltanus wrote:It definitely does not feel much like an SP boost.
Last night I played an extremely long Domination match and ended up with about 2,000 WP at the end. My SP at the end? 14,000. That isn't even 1.5 times the normal SP, let alone 2 times (I'm guessing I would've gotten around 11k-12k normally)
I know that is definitely not CCP's fault or problem, but there is just no way I'm gonna have the time (or desire) to hit this cap. Some people who play more than me will though.
That's a bit there, with 1000wp I came out normal with 8500 sp, so to me it felt like there wasn't much of a bonus, but your gain of sp would qualify as double SP to me. |

What's stupid about a decision to give players twice the weekly cap and double the SP gain from WP? Devs even explained why exactly they did what they did - to discourage people from AFK farming SP. What's stupid about that? You actually like being in a match where 1/5 of your team sits in an MCC entire time? I believe you when you say that you like the game and want it to succeed. It just seems to me that branding every decision CCP makes that doesn't quite fit your (or someone else's) fancy as "stupid" isn't really helpful. On another note - if this week's double SP event is seen by some players as "forcing them to grind", I really fail to see the reasoning behind this: Firstly, there really isn't any requirement for any player to reach his SP cap every week - it's not like you're prevented from doing something in game unless you hit the cap. Secondly, reaching the normal SP cap really isn't a big deal - I can do it in a couple of evenings, and I'm a person with a steady job, wife, kids... definitely a fair share of RL stuff that has priority over DUST. Reaching this 2x cap should not be too much of a problem, even for someone like me. And finally, DUST has a rather unique mechanics that gets you a steady, constant SP gain just by simply creating a character and doing absolutely nothing - not even turning on your PS3. Branding such a system as "grind-forcing" is ludicrous. This turned out to be quite a wall of text, so my apologies. :)
You obviously play more then me, and no not all of us are complaining but as I stated earlier in this thread we do have a right to question. For me I do maybe one game a night, weekends a few more, and I usually come close to the cap. So the cap has never been an issue with me. Thing is, doubling it and not giving me an equal return on my sp gain does me no good at all! I won't reach it, not complaining here, just saying the event isn't as important to me as it is to you.
Another thing, people refer to it as a grind, because you are given a chance to make more then the normal cap if you so choose but without a huge bump on the SP gain. So if I wanted to get the full potential from this cap, I got to play more then I want to, then sir, in this way it becomes a grind. I know we may not see eye to eye, but bashing everyone on here for their concerns is not the way to go. Good day. |

Raist Soulforge wrote:The notice I read was pretty clear...cap was doubled, not 2X SP earned, and SP from WP would be doubled. Not sure where the confusion is coming from? Perhaps everyone just skimmed the post without actually reading it?
My first thought about this event was perhaps a sort of "testing the waters" about adjusting current caps and WP rewards. They can monitor the progress to see just how far the casual player actually gets towards the cap to see what kind of adjustments to make and still keep things "balanced".
Good thought, it does seem like they may be testing out the cap, I still feel your biggest SP should come from the contribution made to battle. Though the WP system needs work, mainly as I see it, more things added into it. As a tanker, it is very easy to make a lot of WP off destroying turrets, but the ground guys gotta put a lot of effort into those points. Good post my friend. |

Spademan wrote:I'm going to re-iterate what aload of people have already said. Cap is x2 Sp from battles is as follows: Sp from time in battle=same Sp from warpoints=x2 So it's extra, not a huge amount but it's nifty.
Very nice, needed this on here. I will see if I reach my cap this week with the double SP from warpoints, not a huge bonus but at least I get a little something from blowin stuff up!
