I primarily run gallente logistics, used to use a scrambler rifle very successfully but its slowly becoming obsolete for me, either my aim is getting crappier or people are running more and more beefy suits so I just can't kill them like I used to. Been doing fairly well with the assault rifle rifle recently but I was using it as a fallback for the night and because it didn't take up alot of room (wanted to give myself better shields armor and equipment). SMG is also good but I feel that it's lacking range and the assault one would be good but something about these guns is just boring to me. I don't really care to spray and pray and go call of duty on everyone's asses.
Bottom line, I can only have 1 gun, and I need one that can take care of most situations I run into (primarily while keeping my team alive and stocked), I'd prefer to keep it cheap in terms of isk sp and weight so nothing past skill level 1 or 2 (but I'm open minded), basically just want to deal with situations quick and move on. Out of 11+ million sp I'd say about 300k is actually invested into weapon's and operation, 600k total in the entire weaponry skill tree, I will not miss old guns. All of that being said I should probably just wait until new guns come out but anyway, ideas, GO! |

The Breach SMG may be a bit more up your ally its probably the closest thing to a tactical SMG you're going to get for now. Good amount of ammo, decent reach, hits hard and accuracy is its corner stone unlike the other traditional SMGs. |

Dump more sp in scrambler rifle and get the proficiency up. If you play a true support logi and you are generally behind your squad try a mass driver. Eventually you need to dump some sp if you want your gun (any gun) to be more relevant. |

LOL! laser...I don't have the patience for that gun, used it all up on the scramber, breach smg might be interesting but I've always thought that if I'm gonna use that why not just use the assault rifle? Higher damage and rate of fire isn't it? |

Might want to try the assault variant of the scrambler rifle since you already have skills into scrambler rifles. Its basically an AR, but has a nice optic sight, and a bigger magazine. |

Yeah....I'm really reluctant to use SP on weapons right now, I know they have more on the way and obviously they're not done balancing yet, problem with using it on scramber is that there's not really any beneficial skills other than proficiency and fitting optimization, plus the thing costs 11 PG, I can give myself a big boost in armor and awesome equipment for that, mass drivers do look interesting I would just need to work on the aim, heard they're pretty much useless before the EXO-5 which is discouraging. |

I think a MD is great for an actual logi. You can push multiple people back while running up to stab someone with a needle as well as support your squad and scatter/pick others apart. But there seems to be a trend against MD's these days for some reason that I don't get. So, you know, probably a nerf inbound on 'em... |

If your generally bored of the AR and SCR, I'd suggest trying out the mass driver. I've been an AR user almost exclusively for about a year now... and it got really boring. But the MD is actually fun to use and brought some new life into the game for me.
MD with flux might just be the best logi combo in the game. As if if you don't get them with the MD, a flux ripping away all their shields will generally make people retreat and recharge. Perfect for a logi. |

Tried those before, no doubt they're just flat out better than the assault rifle but the problem is they're expensive. |

Just use the SMG. I am a CalLogi (advanced so don hate!!!) And with an smg, I held out against like 8 enemies before my squad came. They seemed scared of my RoF. But it's just what I noticed. I recommend the full auto scrambler rifle, or a proto SMG. The SMG is very inexpensive, and it doesn't require alot of fitting room. |

Honestly If mass drivers get nerfed again like they did after uprising then I would have alot less respect for CCP, they're absolutely not overpowered it's just that after the flaylock everyone needed something to ***** about, mass driver was basically in the same family so why not hit that? I really hate that everyone complains about grenade launchers in games, sorry grenade launchers exist, and when you get hit with one it's ******, if you get hit with one in real war u don't sit there and scream noob you aim for that guy or run, and MD doesn't seem to have that effect anymore. Everyone complains about if but when they get shot no-one freaks the f*** out. |

Oh please, anyone that still uses the callogi is a damn trooper lol, seems like it got hit hard. I think that anyone can be scared of you if they feel like they can't hit you or you're doing more damage to them but honestly I'm not looking for fear I'm looking for effectiveness, I don't want them to run or have a fire fight I want them to be gone so I can move on. ugh maybe I'm looking at it the wrong way, as long as I can be not dead I don't care what else happens, just seems like when people can be taken out quickly is when I live the longest lol. |

Actually they aren't. You'll need to have an SMG or Flaylock for when you encounter a armor tanked suit.
My recommendation:
Since you're Gallente logibro, you can definitely use the logibro weapon, the Mass Driver. Yep they're FOTM but who cares? You want something that isn't a rifle. Gallente logibro got third place in my best suit for Mass Driver thread. With this weapon you'll want damage mods to take advantage of its high base damage.
A cheap fit:
-ADV Gallente Logibro -ADV assault Mass Driver -2 damage mods (complex) -3 basic plates or complex ferro -Nanohive, needle and repair tool -Flux grenades
Might want to use the STD suit if you want it cheaper, but keep the assault MD.

Fair enough I can get that, though its a shame there aren't more players with the patience to get good with the Laser....
Laser Duels are surprisingly deep kind of like when two snipers immeadtately become aware of one another.
Do you try to burn out your laser to maximum damage first to try to end your opponent before he can get you, or do you wait until he is reloading or overheated before firing yourself?

Ugh, I wanted to avoid damage mods but I suppose it's better than proficiency. I don't go without armor repair so I'll go with enhanced plate and complex ferroscale, kinda want a shield extender (have armor tree maxed out and 5 for shield upgrades and extenders) but I'll try it out both ways. I'd have to spec into weapon upgrades but that's doable, flux I can do, will probably cut back to the first assault MD for now, gonna actually test it on an alt first of course. But even with the base damage it seems like it's just so underpowered for splash, like I feel like I'm barely going to be doing anything |

It's all you need in this game. lol thats a fact, shot a proto heavy in the face a couple of times. If the heavy suit could hold equipment I would use it but sadly you cant have a big ass gun AND keep people alive, and novas are great if you can get next to someone without dying, aaaand sometimes I have trouble catching up to heavies lol. |

I did notice something with the laser though, when you shoot someone with it they turn and run, it is like a sniper rifle where it keeps people in cover, not many kills but great support gun. |

The numbers seem bad but the thing's a beast. It has higher clip and RPM than the basic version. So basically you'll be spamming the baby and will out-DPS the basic MD by a lot. Also has bigger splash radius. So the gun is piece of cake and will get you kills.
If you have shield extenders at max then go for it, although unlike the assault suit the Gallente logibro doesn't get any bonus to shields. The damage mods will prove more useful imo. Don't use enhanced plates they have almost double speed penalty than basic for only 33% more armor. You might wanna sacrifice the repair tool for a triage nanohive so that you exchange the armor repairer for another armor plate. That way you can repair yourself and others.

It's a possibility, I run a suit basically like what I described on a normal basis, enhanced plates because they're cheap and give quite a bit of armor (i've lived with the speed penalty) armor repairer because when I do get caught on my own I get around 12 points per second along with shield recharging which gives me huge longevity. however I may just run this stuff because of habit, I didn't usually run with people and had to keep myself alive without triage nanohives, and I can never go without a repair tool, or at least people I run with can't. Focus alot more on keeping myself and others alive long term than getting all the kills.
Possibly replace the repairer for another ferroscale, I'll try it out at some point if the mass driver goes well without too much help, bout to try it out on an alt, at least it looks good in terms of taking up space, ill see where it goes. Whatever happens it's gonna be a slow transition lol |

Yeah, you definitely need a SMG as backup with that one. And good luck with your new fit. I switch to Caldari assault + assault Scrambler Rifle + my sweet Flaylock and I just feel so pro. Weird combination that works wonders.
