It would be fun to kill enemies in a brutally-different way. Using Ice, fire, and electricity. Starting with new grenades/REs: A variant that instantly freezes and kills opponents. A variant that engulfs the player in flames and kills them. Another variant that sends a shock wave and depletes shield plus renders equipment ineffective.
Next comes the ammunition: Projectiles that on contact begin to freeze the opponent, and in the process killing them. Depending on the amount of rounds that hit, the target will begin to move slighly slower. This ammo can be effective against shield. Super-heated rounds (fire/armor-piercers), this round will be highly effective on armor. Different weapons can use these rounds.
....I will add more later. any thoughts so far? |

As much as I agree with Alzen, i would like to see interchangeable weapon ammunition, like putting slugs on shotguns. |

I would like to see some kind of ammunition system like in Eve Online. |

I'd like to different ammo types but I don't want to have ice rounds simply for the sake of them being cool, with that said I can see how elemental ammo could make sense without being silly.
incendiary/ fire rounds - High thermal damage makes these rounds disable shields quickly, with no penalty to armor damage. - drawbacks are reduced mag capacity and cost
Emp/ electric rounds - greatly increased shield damage with reduced armor damage.
I've got nothing for ice rounds that would make any sense for it to be in the game. |

Welcome to "Elder Scrolls: 514".
I like your idea, but I see it more as an alternative ammo type of thing... Not something so crude as Greek-Roman "elements".
More like: "Flux Rounds" to increase damage vs. shields. Reduced damage vs. armor. (No blast radius.) "Explosive Rounds" to increase damage vs. armor. Reduced damage vs. shields. (No blast radius.) "Hyper-Velocity Rounds" to increase damage vs. vehicles. (Only for HMGs?)
That's what "elemental" damage would be in Dust. :) |

I've got nothing for ice rounds that would make any sense for it to be in the game. Flag freezes armor, resulting in more damage done to target depending on the number of shots hit on target. |

In Eve, minmatar have variations of projectiles. If this was implemented into dust, we would see things such as EM mass drivers, or explosive HMGs. |

... Or EM swarms.
I agree that this is not the kind of game to draw on fantasy tropes for its weapons. Mind you, we've got plenty of earth, a certain amount of electricity (flux grenades, anyone?), and an abundance of fire-- or plasma, at least, which makes Skyrim fireballs look like bubble bath.
(Now if only we had nuka grenades, which do the same to plasma ... naaaaah.) |

good input guys. I'm all for new ammo, new weaponry. So to continue with my first post: An explosive round that explodes a second later. This can be suited for snipers or have tiny explosions for the AR. Say you riddle a guy with bullets, then the explosions kick in.
Again I can see this working perfectly for snipers: A round that once in the body, the shooter can trigger the R1 button again for a high-electrical shock to finish the enemy or injure him and cause hindrance because of the shock, the electricity can chain other nearby targets.
Finally a knife that you can throw at high-velocity, then trigger R1 again to detonate or cause shock! A precision strike that causes a black-out and all equipment malfunctions for a period of time. |
