Right now you get 5 SP/s. So in a 10 min game that's 3000 SP for just sitting in the MCC.
I propose:
Start with 2 SP/s. Then:
Give +2 SP/s if out of red line. Give +2 SP/s if w/in 100m of any objective. Give +1 SP/s if w/in 100m of any enemy.
You could get more SP than you do now from 'passive' SP as long as you were in the heat of battle.
Naturally this COULD be farmed if two whole teams wanted to just AFK/stand in between each other's objectives, but you'd get better SP by slaughtering them all.
This would hurt redline snipers. This would hurt redline tankers. This would hurt building snipers a bit. It would be significantly more difficult to pull off AFKing and get the same passive SP. |

Rather than break the game trying to fix the symptoms, why not treat the cause? Create content that is enjoyable so I won't want to AFK. |

All content can only be so enjoyable. Min-maxers will alway try and find a way to maximize resturn with as little investment as possible. In a way that is the content they enjoy. That is really difficult to design around.
You are better off figuring out systems that incentivize appropriate participation IMO. |

Might I add you obvious have no clue what it would take to program something like this into the game. Why would you think they would even consider something that will take them hours and hours and hours of time just to program when there are other solutions that are simpler? |

I don't know how simple this would be, but the server can obviously check your distance to objects, and if the Eve Alliance Tournament is any indication, it can dump API data in a form that can summarize vectors' movements within 3D environments.
I don't think it would be very difficult to do map checks for the times which players are within distance of one another, objectives, or not in red lines. |

In this scenario CCP should stop trying to fix the issues internally and drop down the TOS and specifically state MCC afking, farming WP, and any unfair activity will be subject to punishment or ultimate termination. That way they can stop adding all of these caps that hurt real players the most, like the repair tool cap. Obviously CCP can obtain server data so it is possible to obtain data on players and know if the player is or isn't farming WP and such. |

You are better off figuring out systems that incentivize appropriate participation IMO.Your system does not incentivise participation, snipers are participating and they get punished, what about AV infantry, what about rail gun tanks, what about pilots? All of these roles are meant for long range encounters, or to stay away from infantry to do their job. Snipers are supposed to redline snipe, the reason in other games snipers are not able to sniper in 100% safety is because in those games a sniper shot kills you instantly, in this game it requires 3-5 shots to kill somebody with a sniper rifle; rail gun tanks need to stay away from the front lines because they are long range weapons a rail gun tank has no chance against a blaster tank; AV infantry definately need to stay away from people since their fire power is only for killing vehicles so they have absolutely no defence.
Completely disagree....this "hardcore" "Balls to the walls" game is wayy too carebear. Actually this game caters to carebears so badly that COD is actually hardcore in comparison. There should be no redline period. Only perfectly safe spawn point should be the MCC...everything else should be open.
THe HTFU in this game does not even exist....unless you say we should HTFU against all the stupid/idiotic/imbecilic things that CCP does. |
