Why have specialization locked to one class of suit?
I think it would be better to have the specializations for each type of frame.
Rather than lock Logi's, Pilot's and Commando's to scout, med, and heavy, they should be available to each class.
There should be suits for scout logi's, pilots or commando's, also there should be heavy logi's, pilots or commando's.
I know I'm not making a great case, but back in open beta the game felt less restrictive on how I played. If I wanted to be a extremely weak logi and run around in a scout suit I could, and I had fun doing it. Now if I skill in to scouts I know there really isn't a lot I can do with it, either than snipe.
I'm not sure what an heavy logi would be or how much it would get used but it could easily add to the strategy of the game.
I realize they are locked so people will sink SP into class, but experimenting is a tedious grind rather than the fun it used to be.

actually a simpler method would be to have the assault skill apply to all of the racial assault suits.
and the sentinel apply to all racial sentinel suits.
instead of having four each.
It's how EVE does Tech 2 ships. And it eliminates a needless SP sink, and opens up options.
and heavy logi is a bad idea. You saw what happened when they let the caldari logi have too much HP. |

Heavy would have to be a gimped heavy say less mod and equipment slots. |

Speaking as one of the game's remaining scouts, you can do a LOT as a scout. More than a heavy, I'd even say (you can jump, for one thing). You can sneak, you can trap, you can assassinate, you can flank, you can stealth-hack, booby-trap, evade, outrun, circle back, nova knife, and booby-trap again.
The thing you cannot do is mow down hostile militia suits like grass. If you don't play like an absolute bastard, you maybe shouldn't play a scout.

As to the rest of your idea, it's an interesting one, but I still don't care for it. This game is currently in about the situation Eve Online was in at launch. The diversity of the equipment we have and the resources available to us is looking quite likely to explode (albeit slowly). We're not going to be stuck indefinitely with just the categories we currently have.
Also, a light sentinel? A heavy pilot? Seriously? Do we not have enough murder taxis as it is? |

CCP!!!! Pay attention here! Thread coming soon to feedback and with a solid plan to appease everyone, encourage diverse character base (instead of go proto or get stomped) which was the way it was intended to be played. |
