This is a weapon that spawns topic here. The plasma cannon is a versatile weapon. It shoots arced lobs like a mass driver, it does full damage to vehicles & installations & infantry, The splash damage on the STD can one-shot a scout, the ADV and PRO can one-shot many ADV suits, And you can carry this on a medium and light suits.
Drawbacks of course include: firing 3 shots slower than a forge gun, Very low ammo capacity, the speed of the shots lets them be dodged, as obvious as the laser rifle, and like the swarm launcher there is a delay after firing the weapon before you can switch weapons.
However, the drawbacks are very high. A good game for me is 7-11 kills. I like to run KLA Plasma Cannon with the ADV flaylock that has reduced CPU. With a flux grenade, compact nanohive, 2 basic shield extenders, 1 basic armor repairer, and 1 basic CPU mod. This is my Dragonfly Assault suit.
I run this suit because I'm better than you. Not all of you, but many. When I'm running with the worst weapon I could find and do better than you I am disheartened to see so many players below me at the end of the battle. Lower KDR, lower WPs, and more deaths than me. Honestly, my greatest enemy when running this build is my own team. Blue dots running in front of my shots and exploding on them damaging or killing me.
Ah, but I could have better core skills than you. That could provide me with better base stats. Well, I have armor and shield upgrades to 3 and biotics to 5, with Engineering and Electronics also at 3. nanohive at 3, plasma cannon at 3, flaylock at 5, and grenadier at 3.
Should the Plasma Cannon be buffed? That question comes up in many Plasma Cannon threads. I say, no. If they made it a useful weapon I would lose my favorite tool for humiliating you all. |

 Died by it a couple of days ago...

Would it be better if you could control the trajectory of the missile by turning the weapon in the direction you want it to go after you have shot it? (R.C missile launcher) |

Hilarious, I have similar core stats to you and I also enjoy running the plasma cannon. It's fun to use since its so impractical. Nothing is a s satisfying as a plasma cannon kill. They get so mad!! Seriously though, its a terrible gun, just awful. |

With flux 'nades, it is actually really good at taking out shield tanks up close. The ones without gunners inside at least/ |

I used it on an alt, was kind of fun, even outside the academy.
I also once got killed by a plasma cannon. I wasn't even mad. It's like getting killed by a door gunner from a dropship. It's more of a donation of warpoints rather than defeat. |
