In the good ol' days of Killzone 2 mutiplayer online, we had server lists. This wasn't the matchmaking BS we see in every FPS/TPS out there. This meant players could choose their servers based on the rules set by the one who made the match.

Rules such as: Weapons allowed, what game-mode(s), maps, time-limit etc etc.

Just imagine, any weapon you deemed OP, you could create a match and forbid it from being used. Any vehicle you deemed OP, you could forbid. You could even forbid certain maps from showing up.

You want valuable Intel CCP, you let us decide and go off that. Just imagine CCP, what if the most popular matches created and played in would be ones without vehicles. What would that tell you? Or if the most popular was matches without Assault rifles?

Sadly this will NEVER happen in this game, as they are too far down the rabbit hole to make a change like this. Which is a shame.

Server lists > matchmaking, especially if players can create their own servers with their own rules.

Actually, this WAS in the game, but for only one day only.If I remember correctly,it was either right before the E3 build or the one after that.I remember it was on a Monday too.I can remember going to the Battle Finder and seeing a ton of server lists with different options.

I don't know if anyone else remembers seeing this,as brief as it was,and more importantly,I can't even fathom why I didn't take a picture of it.

why stop there. Kill zone had imo one of the best stat logs in any fps game. And on their site, you can actually see a replay of your last battle, and friends battles! what a amazing tool that would have been for CB in this game. alas..

I always hated servers with rules like "Don't use this weapon because we don't like it!"

Pfft, you ever play KZ2 when it was in it's prime? It had a player-base very similar to Dust. It was NOT an uber popular game, and was majorly overshadowed by COD.

Yet, this setup worked well for KZ2, despite not having the numbers. Only problem was the lack of standardized games with standardized rules, which meant the only servers available were from players (which did pose a problem, but is easy enough to get around, Warhawk accomplished it with player created games and server-lists by having official matches setup that were standardized).

 don't insult KZ2 dude. lol

4K? KZ2 never that low count at it's prime. I doubt KZ3 has that low number also. Last of us multi player has more online than 4000. 4k is low. like LOOOOOOw.

The thing is that Guerrilla Games used logic when it made KZ2. CCP's design philosophy is comparable to a cat on LSD.
