All Heavy, Light, and Sidearm weapons should have a fitting optimization it just makes sense. Even the Flaylock has a fitting optimization skill, and it has very low fitting requirements.

I think a lot of it is just getting used to the drop off. For the Flaylock it has a similar ark to the Plasma Canon If someone is dancing just aim for the feet. Sometimes I find it advantageous to jump and fire down at them.
