I use cal scout exclusively and I can say when I'm fighting scrubs and players with bad aim I can dance around their bullets all day, even militia heavies with basic hmgs.

However when I cqc against good players with good aim I die frequently. Boundless combat rifle, six kin combat and boundless hmgs, ARs and ScRs melt my scout very fast when weilded by a player that knows how to aim and how to kill a staffing scout.

I also want to point out that I run with a ScR and I melt most scouts I come across including cal scouts.

I think the fact that cal scouts normally don't armor tank makes then strafe faster which combined with ****** hit detection can sometimes make them seem impossible to hit even though faulty hit detection applies to all suits. I have shoot a heavy point blank, with registered shield flash and he took zero damage. Dust hit detection is garbage.

If good players are hitting you maybe it's something like the calscout is messing with the aim assist.]]>

Yes, I understand there is an ongoing issue regarding Caldari Light Frames and their possible ability to have projectile weapon resistances and screwed up hit detection windows, but I had to see for myself so I skilled into them with what SP I had saved.

On my Scout c/1 series, I'm a god against CR, HMG, and SMG users in 1v1 CQC engagements. I've beaten HMG Heavies and stood in direct fire only to wonder why my squishy suit was surviving with only 308 shields and 87 armor. Add in some strafing and I feel like Keanu Reeves as bullets seem to pass me by completely.

What's weird is that I seem to only excel in combat against projectile weapons. Against Scrambler Rifles, Scrambler Pistols, Assault Rifles, and a few other weapons, I usually get torn to shreds in roughly two seconds. However, against a CR weilding GalScout, I can dance around all day and not give two fucks about dying. In most cases, I don't even have to worry about changing to my sidearm when I run out of bullets on my main. I can just dance around as I reload my weapon.

In all, I could just be imagining all of this and could have just been pitted against players with poor gun game, but the effects are so real to me that I whole-heartedly believe there is something wrong with these suits. They're too easy to survive in.Ugh

Anyway, does anyone have any good suggestions as to how to fit my new main? So far, I've been running:

-shield extenders x2
-precision enhancer
-profile damp
-range amp

I was considering giving up my ewar mods and going:

-shield extender x3
-reactive plate
-shield regulator

For more of a light assault build, but I'm a little hesitant to lose my scans and damps.

light suit or scout?

In my opinion, the db of Passive Scanners should vary based on the distance of the target, and its sharing among your squad should be limited to line of sight.

Although, the eHP capabilities of the Scout/Light Frame is another issue, which is just (if not more) problematic.]]>
