If you're shooting all charged shots you're going to heat up much faster so you're going to get less shots off. I'd think that they use heat build up per second like they use damage per second.

Skilling into the Amarr Assault for that bonus is only useful if you're using weapons like the scrambler rifle or laser rifle. And the reduction in heat build up allows you to get more shots off with the scrambler rifle and also helps with using the laser rifle to its maximum potential.

Also, knowing how many shots you can make before overheating is just something you learn to feel for.

and some weapons built up heat when you fire continuously.

But how the heat built up mechanism works?
for example : scrambler rifle built up 60 unit of heat per second
Is that mean no matter how many shots i fire within a second, it just built up 60 unit of heat?
if not, why does CCP use the work "second" instead of "heat built-up per shot" ?

Amarr Assault Bonus: 5% reduction to laser weaponry heat build-up per level
5% reduction mean how many shots I can fire more (like scrambler rifle) before it overheat?
Is it worth to skill up and use this suit?

Can CCP explan the heat built-up mechanism?
So that we can get a better planing about how many shot I can fire before it overheat?
How the heat related skills actually affect the weapon performance?]]>
