I'm currently a Cal logi I have 9mil SP. When I am able to respec I want to go Minmatar speed tank (scout) with a shotty, nova's/flaylock. I have an alt with 2 mil SP I made the scout build on, most fun I've had in this game!
Anyway, could a speed tanked scout please give me some help on this topic? Thanks in advance.

I have the same set-up on my alt with 3mil SP and it's a lot of fun...mostly because the aiming is still so screwed up half the people can't even hit me.
I guess I'll provide what limited experience-based knowledge I have:
- The red modules that increase sprint speed are awesome. You don't have a ton of SP so it's going to be rough getting into those. You may have to wait a little bit before you get access to them.
- The CRG-3 shotgun is good. Again, with low SP you're going to need to tighten the belt a bit in certain areas. You don't need the proto shotgun to do well.
- The Advanced Basic suit (as in, not racial) is good enough. I've had a decent amount of survivability with it if you stack Complex Shield Extenders.
- Personally I don't use damage modifiers. It's just more SP you can't really afford to lose plus the shotgun does a ton of damage anyway. And you'd have to give up a shield module to use one.
- Shields are your friend. The scout has a pretty fast shield depletion delay and armor slows you down.
- Armor is up to you, but remember it'll slow you down. I also don't bother with an armor repair module because I have so little armor anyway.
- REs are good, but "heavy" (expensive PG and CPU requirements if I remember correctly). You can get a lot of kills against unsuspecting red dots by placing them near objectives. It also helps your team because you can defend multiple objectives while not being near any of them.

I want to change my main with 9 mil sp dude. My alt has proto kinetic catalysers, shotty lvl one, Minnie scout basic lvl 3, nova knives lvl 1 & active scanners lvl 1.. No core skills or modules bar kinetic catalysers. |

I must have completely missed that line. Most of the stuff I said still applies, though, it just means you can get the good kinetic catalyzers, proto shotgun, proto suit, complex shield modifiers, etc. |

Your base speed as a scout isn't high enough to keep you from dying to someone who can aim.
You'll clean up pub matches, but PC will be a different story.
But the scout role in PC is still very important. 4 objective with 16 players, usually become intense fights for 1-2 objectives. This leaves the rest vulnerable to hacking.
A scout with nova knives can actually defend pretty well.
But if you get caught out in the open, you will die. |
