So I understand why militia suits need to be competitive in a highsec, carebare, isk farming kinda way, but these should be useless when the battles that matter are fought. Simply provide a general buff or nerf to suits being used outside of instant battles so militia become next to terribad. This way to win a battle REQUIRES the teams to commit some cash.
Take this one step further and introduce instant battles with much higher rewards that cannot effectively use militia grade suits to warm the feet of the noobs.
Then let everyone SAFELY farm isk in militia suits in instant battles.
Btw there doesn't seem to be much risk = reward yet.. Just sayin'
Tl;dr Militia suits ONLY useful in instant battles. (Perhaps specific instant battles) |

Actually, you don't understand why militia suits need to be competitive. Requiring high end gear to play or compete is a frequent request, but unfortunately, is contrary to the fundamental design of the game. In the end, this is still supposed to be a shooter, not Farmville. |

The prototype of all suits are much better than the militia versions. They allow several more high/low slots, more cpu/pg to allow you to fit higher end mods and weapons, etc.
When you do the math, a proto suit will typically have anywhere from 1.5x more HP to as much as DOUBLE the hp of militia suits. They can potentially also regain their shields in half the time, and have room for equipment, better nades, etc. It really depends on how you fit the suit.
The only thing that can arguably stand to be changed is the weapons. But even that change, should be marginal.
I think what you want is for proto/complex gear to be game-changers for ANYONE, regardless of skill. Right now, they are game-changers, but only if your skill is on par or better than the competitors. It won't make up for less player skill... this is how it should be. |

^Generally agree with this. Additionally want to mention that the player skill in question here isn't gun game alone it's also fitting skill (i.e. adapt and bring the right tool for the right job). Proto fits alone shouldn't = win. Well designed proto fits in the hands of someone who knows what they're doing? Those are absolutely lethal.

I agree. When I say "skill", I mean "gun-game". I generally refer to toon skills as SP skills. |
