Make it properly hardcore. You have to wager 1 million ISK for every pub match, and and this will only be refunded if you come top of the leaderboard with a KD ratio of over 10. |

Possibly. But to make it seem less... Arcade... I'd say there should be an explanation as to why you have low health, more damage, etc.. Perhaps you've been issued a newer kind of ammunition, and on your way in your shields have been scrambled. You may have had this in mind but I'm posting it to keep the term "COD Clone" off this thread. I mean if it weren't for clones in EVE and Dust it'd feel a lot more... Casual... So keep hardcore hardcore :P
EDIT: Good for Nullsec. You'd have a high chance of dropping in with injuries (Making bullets do more damage, as now better rounds seems silly), your HUD and Shield being scrambled and, again whatever else. |

1st: Hardcore mode is for story line driven single player CoD/Halo/BF3/Killzone/Gears. There was no explanation to your "Hardcore Mode" and "normal hardcore stuff" isn't obvious; as hardcore in other games means something different from game to game.
2nd: In regards to the post about wagers and pub matches; there will be an e-sport feature in Dust. If you don't know what e-sports is, please look it up.
3rd: Ammo types and switching out ammo will be a feature in the game...but it will take time for it to be implemented. |

Actually, we "insta-bake" equipment using blueprint copies or originals, and and slap merc psyches willy-nilly into assembly-line clones. So jury-rigged CRUs or CRUs exposed to intense ionizing radiation, etc., might have a lower grade of clone and not have all of the mineral supplies to cook proper full-strength shield modules, etc.

I am curious how wormhole fights will work (and wormhole effects may well create odd modes and effects, like they do for capsuleers). Wormholes have no established stations other than player-run towers, etc. Capsuleers who die in a wormhole have their psyches transferred back to the cluster normally, but then have to fly back to the wormhole. If you need to connect through several wormholes this can range from tedious to impossible.
I assume mercs will just respawn at the MCC (if it can enter wormhole space) or a nearby CRU, but you can easily have a situation where death means respawning outside wormhole space, back in the cluster. |
