Currently, we have 4 diffrerent region servers, EU, NA, Au and Asia. Everyone get thrown into their own region server with no way to join other region game (unless you follow other region players in their squad to battle). This work fine, for a high sec pub game, that is. Now, Codex is at hand, we will see the light of low sec faction warfare and later on, null sec corp battle.
I do have one big bold underlined question. How will the server location be detemined for a particular battle at particular district on particular planet between two particular corps ??
Will it be detemined by majority of players signing up for that battle ? Will the defender get to choose where the battle will take place ? (server-wise) Will each planet be pre-detemined where it will be located ? (again, server-wise) Or will all battle take place in EU, where Transqility server located ?
This is my biggest concern about DUST514, Latency. If it's rpg I can tolerate up to 1000ms just fine. If it's fps anything beyond 200 is considered bad. My average ping to other region server is currently around 260ms which is considered bad but managable (I'm in Asia region). Still, I can't help but notice the different in my performance between each servers and I'm very curious to know how will it work when the game go live. |

I really hope that this doesn't become a situation where lag determines the outcome of a match more than actual gameplay. |

It is my understanding that once the game goes to full release we will all be on the same server (Tranquility) regardless of region. Except for China, who runs on a separate server (Serenity).
Right now the Beta is running on the test server (Singularity). I am not sure if this is partitioned in any way by region. I am in the US (east coast) and I have friends playing in the EU from Ireland to Finland and we have not experienced any lag that is unusual or persistent when I play with them.
Not sure if this answers your question |

The EVE tranquility server is probably the best of its type in the world. IMO it is far superior to our 'regional' servers at present.
It does have problems at times of course, but its pretty good. Looking forward to it. |

https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=18627 They do have seperated battle server around the world right now. I can see how it work with current random pub game system we have in this build. I however have absolutely no idea how will it work when there are specific player-created battles going on. |

Localised language client, but on the server, what you see is what you get i.e. if a German comes up and starts talking in German, thats what you see.
