I know all of you are going to say, "but they just were and now they suck!" but you'd be wrong of course. Tank Large missile launchers are just OP in general being as good as Railguns AV and better anti-personnel than blasters. I dont care if you have a sagaris or surya with the damage output, they shouldnt be nearly as good as railguns. And no smart person puts anything except missile launchers on anything. Wheres my point defense laser system that kills all the incoming missles? or some Chaff or something? Railguns should be the best AV and missiles should be uber Anti-personnel. Blasters should be a middle ground. Railgun>Blaster>Missile. Also even the small ones are amazingly too good. I had a Dropship sitting above me in a game today with (im guessing based on damage rate) two cycled missile launchers that were SHREDDING my tank. And my gunners sat and did nuthin! but thats beside the point. Small missile turrets are clearly too good (just look at the usage compared to other turrets) and large ones are OP as previously stated. And don't think i'm a whiny infantrymen. I'm a tank driver, fairly good until 2 days ago and now i'm on a bad spree, due to the aforementioned turrets suddenly showing up en masse. Maybe small missile don't need the nerf that much, but then the others need buffs. |

Missiles have a couple of significant disadvantages in comparison to the railgun:
1) Distributed damage - The missiles don't have a small point of damage contact. What would count as a full railgun strike might only, for instance, allow for one or two missiles to hit. (There is, of course, the opposite scenario; a close railgun miss might end up with a single missile collision). At distance, at least one missile frequently misses, dropping DPS by 25+%.
2) They travel far slower than the railgun projectile, meaning you must be very good at leading your target if they are moving or at any significant range.
3) Temporal spacing - Something of a combination of the above; the missiles aren't all fired at once, but in succession. For instance, if shooting a moving target the first missile might strike the fore, the second missile the aft, and the last two miss completely.
If you are in your tank with a rail gun and getting taken out by a similarly classed missile tank, at least one of the following has occurred...
1) You are facing a very skilled and talented missile tanker. They probably deserve the kill.
2) You aren't moving, but at all.
3) You aren't keeping aware of the situation, and he's able to sneak into point-blank range.
4) You are needlessly charging into point-blank range.
5) You are missing your shots frequently. |

blaster should be ultimate anti-vehicle, rail is the tank version of sniper rifle.
The large turrets seem fine to me, the small turrets favor missile to much. I suspect the glitch that makes the gun fire at random angle hurts rail and blaster more then missile. If fixed blasters and rail may be more viable. |

The missiles are pretty terrible at the moment.I don't know if it's the hit detection,or what, but I know that they are a hell of a lot worse than they were in the previous build.

To answer your posed points:
1)The distributed damage makes them massively good anti-personnel weapons with the ability to take out tanks 2/3) you have to lead even with railguns when it comes to any sort of range. They're almost useless at longer range due to the flight time of the projectile and the localized field of damage
To answer the other posed questions: 1) his tank was better than mine in this instance(slightly) but I went down so impressively fast it wasn't funny 2)Any tank driver worthy of driving a standard or above HAV knows the only direction you can move in a tank battle is in a direction that will keep the turret on target or else you've already lost your tank 3)Almost all aware tank drivers NEED to get in close for a kill. At range there's too much flight time for projectiles to do serious damage, and if they do get hurt they can just run for cover 4)Answered mainly in the above point, also no tank driver wants to get caught in the open during a tank fight. Better to get up close and then bail before the tank dies and lob AV grenades 5)I don't miss. Trust me
So my real point is this: If missiles are so good as Anti-personnel, they shouldn't have a ghost of a chance versus a railgun which requires precise aiming to kill in |

I actually think Blasters and Rails need a buff more than rockets (they're dumbfire, why are they called missiles?) need to be nerfed. it sitll takes an absurd number of missile shots to drop a tank. I'd double railgun damage, but add a "charge shake" to make them difficult to use against moving targets; skill would eliminate the charge shake. Even with the shake, this would give railguns a clear role: Anti tank and anti installation.
Blasters need to have better heat dispersion. I'm not the first to suggest this; they overheat waaaaaaay to fast to be useful, and even burst firing overheats the gun. |

Small missiles could stand to have their direct damage lowered, though small railguns and blasters seriously need some love, especially blasters, they're just pathetic right now. |
