I flew 1/2 a match in an Eryx with no armor that was in flames for maybe 5+ minutes. Could we get a way for the flames to go away after shields are fully restored? Not an armor rep, just to help with the distraction, and gunners freaking out. ;)
A tiny passive armor rep would be nice though.
Also my main gunner ended with 17 kills.
I ended 0/0.

Dust 514 Armor reppers on infantry is the first instance of passive armor repair but they did it ont eh grouns that infantry really have wonky module controls probably just as bad as the vehicle ones now.
As for the idea of a passive regen on vehicles for thier armor I have to disagree. |

You could equip a repair tool and land to fix it but they might take your ship. Usually gunners like to keep gunning, especially when they are doing good. |

I have a way to get rid of the flames on your Eryx.
It's called a Repair Tool. If I'm running one of my (several) medic builds while I'm a gunner, I'll let the driver/pilot know I can help patch them up. It's been VERY helpful in a LOT of battles I've been in. |

Yeah, even a militia repair tool comes in handy. |

I have to say the AMOUNT of smoke and flames should reflect the problems the vehicle is in. I'm a Surya driver and have a hell of a time getting gunners, because I'm smoking all the time. 5-10% armour damage, and I'm looking like a smoke stack, and at 50% I have flames all over, yet I'm actually still in good health. Problem is I can not see what I'm shooting at, the smoke is blinding me. A Caldari vehicle at 10% armour is in trouble, a Gallente vehicle at 10% armour is still in good health, yet they burn the same,
Edit: I tried to get attention to the smoke and flames earlier, but hardly got any attention: https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=180463 |

Agreed. I'm perfectly flyable in a shield tanked vehicle with barely any armor. I would not realistically be flyable in the amount of flames I was in, everything would melt after that long a duration.
So, the flames should either kill me. Or go away.
Repair guns are good, I like them, and I'm fine with a disagreement on a tiny passive repair. The issue is the graphic flames.
What is burning so badly that I'm flaming this much? If I'm losing something this much, why am I still flying?
I suggest that when the ship has full shields, fires should go out, but damage remain.
Usually, if I'm into armor I'm likely to die.. but if I don't, and regen all my shields again.. I'm out of that trouble and good to go. Armor on a shield tanked vehicle is a joke. Right now it's being taken too seriously.
In EVE you burst into flames when you are into structure, not armor. Armor isn't critical.
TL;DR - At the very least, put out fires when shields are up. |
