in game rapid troop relocation port, will be very useful in larger maps.
Here is how it could work. Drop an up link sort of thing in one location point a, and then a second up link sort of thing has to be dropped at point b so the same guy has to beat feat across the map because they only work as a pair..step on point a and teleport to point b.. make it for scouts or logistics and get 15 points per use.
these could have skill levels assigned to them so the delay could be 10seconds or 5 or instant, they could also have a limit like the up links of only 15 people through before it stops working.
At first they should be one way. But as you Level up the skill they could be two ways. But I do think they have to be dropped by the same person.
Idea 2
Use up links already in game like resupply depots, step on one and you can get back in the spawn system, you would have to wait the same delay 20 seconds or whatever, and then you could re choose your drop suit loadout . And spawn at new location or the same.
These of course would be a kinda two way up link and would be more expensive and skilled to be able to use.
Once again these could be lmited to just the dropped up links or the whole spawn system. |

This SHOULD be in the game, but calling it teleporting is wrong. Its really just swapping out one clone for another.
MRU to MRU should have 5s respawn.
MRU to vehicle MRU or drop uplink should have 10s.
This should not be an option for drop uplinks, as there is nowhere to store the body. If drop uplinks were used in this way then you should lose that clone and its gear.

+1 great idea. there was an earlier thread on the subject, but it got no attention. Hopefully this one does better. Another idea would be to have it as an installations, like a mini-stargate. Something so tactically important would be fitting as a set of installation. Hopefully we'll be able to call down installations next patch. |

Good idea, but as mentioned it needs to be a clone jump. Which means your team will lose one clone, and there's a timer on it. This should prevent it being overused.
Having said that, I used to love telefragging people in UT... |

Easy way to balance... Use the current drop uplink (worm hole tech to my knowledge) but make it deplete some of ur armor or disable ur shields for a few seconds |

Honestly, my first thought is Halo. Didn't really agree with it then or now because the maps are too small. Also, that's basically what the drop ship is supposed to be, but most people just tower camp with them. |

If you are going to put those restrictions on it, then just save everyone the hassle and commit suicide and spawn in at a drop-uplink... This is exactly what you are proposing.
No, if you read the description for some of our wonderful drop uplinks you will notice that some of them use wormhole technology... Simply extend that, make a L5 drop-tunnel that has the same delay as the same 15 second delay, but it must be paired with another L5 drop-tunnel and ANYONE "using" either one is teleported instantly to the other one.. The drop tunnel would be limited to uses, and a single person can only have 1 set active at any given time.

That's kind of the point. To kill and be killed, the enemy has to use this method as well. There are vehicles like the dropship specifically for moving troops across the map in a rapid fashion. The teleportation that some people are asking for on here seems a bit ridiculous, especially the ones that are saying you'd have to lose a clone to do it. If that's the case, you can just suicide and respawn. Perhaps when we have the ability to call in support structures, turrets, etc I could see being able to call into Teleport centers, and being able to transit between them, at a significant cost as well. I don't forsee them being used though, and they don't really mesh with the New Eden lore. |

This is actually going to be in the game later.
They will be in the form of Black Ops HAV's. There will be a module that will allow any passenger in the HAV to instantly relocate to any valid spawnpoint, objective, or drop uplink. |

Actually, this could work, as long as it had several limitations.
Firstly, the description for drop uplinks says that it is a highly experimental localized wormhole that funnels matter and reassembles it in the target space. So actually, I can see making an upgraded method for that. Maybe that would be a feature of higher tier drop uplinks.
To prevent abuse? Possibly a cap of jumps per minute. Only so many could go through a particular uplink in a certain period of time. The other thing is that I suggest that it would take away at least 40% of your armor and shields upon going through the wormhole, since the description for drop uplinks say it is dangerous and very painful.
As long as it is balanced, I can see great tactics for this. Like a single scout running ahead, putting out an uplink, and having the rest of the team teleport to the location for a surprise attack. |

I like the idea in principal. Only has to be balanced. Maybe the system is dumb and an enemy that stumbles across it can use it too? So if you dropped one at your staging area, then you have to protect the other end or hide it well so that the enemy can't use it against you. Lots of ways to balance it, although having to run across the map to drop each end is pretty good balance. I also like it because it gives the fast, stealthy (eventually, anyway) scout another role. He infiltrates, drops the 2nd end of this gadget, and his whole team comes through. Could be done with uplinks, of course, but this way you don't have to have a bunch of guys all waiting at the respawn screen for the uplink to go up. They can be waiting in a rear staging area where the scout dropped the 1st uplink. With a few scouts, you could create a chain effect. 1st one goes down at the rear staging area, 2nd next to Important Thing #1, 2nd scout drops 1st link nearby, and 2nd link at Important Think #2, ect. |

a teleporter idea for 2 points on a map makes alot of sense considering we already have uplinks that take us from the CRU(spawn) to a uplink. it might as well be used for transport across the battlefield. but her's and idea...include some sort of minimum range so they cant be misused. Ex. walk up to telport pad to shoot it, guy walks up behind you from second telport pad 10m away and get shotgun raped from behind... none of that crap but still good idea you know? |
