They also said "roughly" a couple of weeks. It might take more time. In the meantime, enjoy the Triathlon Event where you can earn 500 AUR a day per character if you complete 5/10 Daily Missions.

Talking about that... since the first day, I only got 500 AUR, (today) even after completing 5+ missions.

And the best part is, that this earned aurum will NOT increase your loyalty rank! So if you wanna increase your LR you still have to buy aurum...

I also completed the 5 missions on my alt trying to unlock trading without spending $. I'm not buying a psn card just to unlock something that should be accessible to everyone. This is a 2 year old alt, play a couple times a week and I'm only half way to rank 2. |

Spending aur gives loyalty points, not gaining AUR
WoW has taught me that Purple means Legendary. This means Quafe suits are the optimal loadout for killing all of you.

This would seem to be the case no longer, either bugged or intentional. I spent the 500 AUR the first day of the event on my Gal alt to get him over the line into LR2 and received 0 points for it (and still have not). Others have reported the same. I filed a ticket, but it has not been handled yet. Interestingly, the Loyalty Rank page no longer says you can gain points by "purchasing and spending Aurum", only "purchasing Aurum".
Reality is the original Rorschach.
Verily! So much for all that.

Um... spending it also increases LR.

Oh.
In that case...
@CCP Rattati, do you mind explaining this?

That would be really bad if that was the case. Will check later today and compare "bought" vs "earned" AUR.

Bought 10 Warbarge Components from the market (30 AUR), which before would net me a 15 LP increase. Now...+ 0 LP Bought the smallest AUR pack (starter) at the PSN store containing roughly 1,200 AUR. This resulted in ~600 LP increase. I thought it was great CCP (was planning to) introduce daily AUR, since this would make the trip to Loyalty Rank 4 (now 2) slightly shorter, if you login daily.
And that is what has me worried. I hope it's just a bug.

Sadly doubt it. The description on the LP page now states "Purchasing Aurum", as The Eristic indicated. This has been updated, which does point to intentionally changed.
This might have been the required "Backend Update" to enable the daily AUR. |

Yesterday (or the day before I forget) I bought a passive booster but I got zero LP as a result. Is something wrong now? |

The one thing I do wonder about... How about AUR purchased before this change, but spent after it... I suspect no LR gain from it at all.
Have you considered installing the improved keyboard?

I was thinking about this myself, and while I'm not 100% sure, I actually think they covered this. I'm not keeping track of my LP until next level, but I have the feeling it made a small "jump" a few days back.
My suspicion is that they granted LP for all AUR in your wallet (bought before the change), so nothing was lost. Would be nice with a confirmation though
You will still get your LP for the same amount of AUR, but instead of slowly getting it when spending you get everything in bulk when you buy. So technically people that buy AUR will get their LP even faster.
The major downside with this is of course that people (including me) thought the daily AUR would bring new players faster to Loyalty Rank 2 by logging in daily, which will no longer be the case. However, IF CCP wanted to speed up the process, wouldn't it be easier to increase the daily login bonus instead?
The rate of LP for in-game activities needs to increase drastically, so I hope CCP can plug whatever exploits they talk about. As Kain showed, it takes too long time to even reach Level 1, which is discouraging for new players
One thing I can say for sure is you only gain LP for purchased AUR, not AUR gear. So if you pick up the Origin pack on the PSN store which only contains gear and no AUR, you will get 0 LP. The same should be true with the Combat Packs... Worth having in mind when purchasing.
