This is not a condemnation of CCP because I understand businesses and there structure seeing as how I studied these things , nor am I complaining or trying to garner some sort of movement but just trying to understand if I'm just feeling this way or not and the fact that I actually care about Dust 514 and the well being of this game and it's participants that I make this or ask the question ... has it gotten to you ?
I play this game , not much because I don't have the free time that I had when I first found this and while playing and having to have to go threw the changes , not talking about how conditions are now but pre FF 2013 when things were prob in the beginning of what eventually lead up to the point were at now and things like vehicle designs were changed and you didn't have much of a selection in the dept of assault rifles and such and people weren't using RE's as grenades and you didn't see jihad jeepers , nether did you have a selection of heavies .
This game has changed in a short amount of time and I'm not complaining or saying that this went wrong but the implement of strong boxes and the fact that a key cost 800 aurum , is bothering me and taking away my feeling for playing this game .
I spend money like most of you and it just seems to be a moot point when most run around in fitted suits that while yes , they cost them real money ... they can fight and die 30 times and not have to pay a single ISK , I see them and I have to kill them but in my mind I just feel like it didn't even count and if I die I would be more likely to feel it and it's not a case of , " well get your own . " ... because there are those who have every fitting , all the load outs and BPO's including vehicle's , so it just not that simple .
It just seems to looses purpose and effects those who can't match that even a bit , or like I said ... " Maybe it's just me ." I just know that while I sit broke , these same people are racking in the ISK's hand over fist and if there opening strongboxes , there making even more of a killing and stretching the distance between themselves and the average players and it's not always instinct and skill that define this advantage .
It's just seeming like it's more about what's in your wallet then what's left on the field and that's what's bothering me at the moment .
I'm not trying to bash CCP like I said but it could get a little out of control if you allow it and right now it just seemed like too much was done without considerations to the changes in the environment .
I'm not knocking those who purchase BPO's but it does have an effect on the economy ( say that there's not one if you like but to me there is ) and it does matter when your faced against such .
Kind of makes the kills worthless because it's not effecting you like it does the whole economy .
Doubts are like flies and should be treated as such and crushed .

If it's any consolation there are players out there that through district locking or farming the 500k isk on new characters have billions and billions of isk to run proto until the game shuts down, aside from the people who legitely grinded to fund proto forever as well... the isk economy is just ******, the only person you should worry about isk wise is yourself and just try to have fun, that's all we can do. |

All these BPO suits look exactly like what was shown for Legion.
I wasn't a huge fan of it then, still am not now.
I liked the way it was, some BPO's, everything else get's paid for. It fit the New Eden motif. Now, it's just "LULZ, the cost don't matter, INTO THE FIRE!"
I enjoyed killing the proto suits with a militia suit. I understand monetizing the BPOs to get money out of a F2P game, but if the BPO scenario we have now... if that becomes the entire gameplay... I don't know, I might stop playing. |

OP,
Free advice. Make your posts much more brief. They are always too long winded and people don't read them.
I took the time to read it. So my take away is you don't like players having BPO's because it breaks the game. Is that it?
You are the same guy who posted a thread about every other day for months crying, begging for respecs. Even your sig was a whine for respecs.
So you got them. But you don't want BPO's? Respecs=yes BPO's=no Do I have that right?
So I have to ask. What exactly will make you happy?

The only one I think that would be arguably much of an issue is the apex suits which are obtainable by everyone albeit after grinding for a long time. I wouldn't consider STD and MLT bpos to be much of a deal which is everything but apex. I mean players can already use frontline suits which some of them are really good. |

I know where the OP is coming from. We break our backs and try to play tactically so as to minimise the isk costs, but people with lots of actual money just buy these, and get an immediate proto advantage over everyone. Getting them through fw isn't even viable anymore because of the horrible waiting times and lack of good games that happen these days.

Really what the game needs is intermediate play as pubs are becoming the grind house and a lot of people, myself included, don't care about PC. More game modes would be a plus. Yes and I like that about what they did because they could have just done crappy fits but they listened to what the people wanted and tailored it to that .
That's a good thing but like I said , those kills just seem blank because my pocket is shrinking while there's is expanding .
Only thing that's suffering is KDR .

I feel you on that, that's why I think the game just needs more content gameplay wise. More modes, hell they should bring back the old skirmish mode as that sounds pretty fun and they could always finish drone mode as I assume hopefully they at least had some assets developed for it, or their trailer was just CGI which is also possible. |

I wouldn't even talk about pro advantage if they don't have the skills to back it and if your wearing an APEX , then trying to get all that they have would put one all over the board .
They really don't work as well without the skills to back them .

The fact is BPO's aren't that effective. They save ISK but suck at everything else. I have 3 of them so I know a little about it.
If a merc wants to be effective at anything other than making ISK, they will need a ISK bought rig.

I tried fw grinding myself, but I'm only at 20k LP's currently, mainly because the game's atm have become full of bluebs who think it's still Battle Academy, and 260lp per game is NOTHING. But I'm not spending -ú40 just to get one. I want to have at least earn it through sweat, tears, and even blood!

Keep measuring you e-peen Calls everyone over to look at yours ... because I don't need to take out mine for measurement .
In NO way am I condemning those who purchase BPO's and I'm not all caps that to show I mean it , all I'm talking about is the effects that it has on the economy and in fact that was the discussion that seen the result of the discontinuing of some but I don't want that so get off your high horse and put down your banner .

I wouldn't mind playing FW myself if it didn't take 10 minutes to get into a minmitar game and that's with a 6 man squad... I just end up getting dropped by scotty if I queue by myself. |

It's the internet, I wouldn't have it any other way. For now, it's the last place in existence where one can be yourself without a nanny state berating you for voicing opinions, no matter how harsh. You and Eruditus don't get along, we all have people like that, just try to be civil or shout at each other, either works. Words are words anyways. |

I have no problem with CCP monetizing this game.
They have not broken the P2W aspect of F2P games, and they have introduced the economics in such a way that game play hasn't been thrown out of balance.

I don't know, I might stop playing.
this. bpos should have been removed entirely from legion and made the game subscription based.
nothing in new eden should ever be permanent.
thats like someone having a battleship bpo and just going around causing mayhem because he has nothing to lose. it doesnt fit into how the game works. every death should be felt in your wallet making you think things through ahead of time.
ccp just stopped caring about dust and legion hence the current state theyre both in.

He was talking about Earl Grey, earlier, so I assume it's that. I've not tried the brand personally. I know a lot of people who have, but it's not something I've ever gotten into. Just for future reference, Earl Grey is a type of tea specifically black tea with bergamot added. Me personally I get Twinings Green, Earl Grey, and Lady Grey (Black tea with citrus.) That's a brand name of tea Twinings. Twinings has some great English and Irish Breakfast brews.
I just love tea except for Tetleys and pg tips, that stuff is crap water.

I find it challenging to take down harder opponents while I use the cheap stuff. I'm sure and that's the supposed premise but it's killing the economy or better yet the lack of a ability to make more of the use of strong boxes .
Now where you have all the post talking about the problem with them , I think that some good could come out of this , if the right middle ground is found .
The fact that they could provide a major source of untapped funds , that are not being taken advantage of by the masses ... could prove to be a big thing if there was a way to gain without spending real money or rather so much of it .
Doubts are like flies and should be treated as such and crushed .

Shinobi MumyoSakanagare ZaShigurui wrote:This is not a condemnation of CCP because I understand businesses and there structure seeing as how I studied these things , nor am I complaining or trying to garner some sort of movement but just trying to understand if I'm just feeling this way or not and the fact that I actually care about Dust 514 and the well being of this game and it's participants that I make this or ask the question ... has it gotten to you ?
I agree that 800AUR for a key for a box that I have over 300 of now is way too much. owever, in general the company has to make money and this seems to be the best way to do it. It doesn't seem to harm the game in my personal opinion, however like I stated, 800 AUR is way too much considering 800 AUR can be traded for about 10 -20k SP at the booster screen.

Don't mind this guy^^^ Your topic went way over his head. I get what your saying. The APEX suits make the game repetitive and boring. It eliminates the thrill of the skill tree and de-values the market. With more isk in players pockets, the value of isk depreciates, much like in our own economy. The more dollars produced, the less they are worth. Not to mention, we will only see the same old fits day after day...no variety.

Everyone knows that the economy of the game is sucky, but any player that is smart, is able to make money even running full proto. Just take it easy and have fun.

It does make this game repetitive like most of the current implementations as of late .

What I was getting at was the over monetization of this game where we have had no new content that's not currency based .
It's making the game boring and taking away the dynamic nature that set this game apart from most on the market .
I support this game like many , out of pocket ... but this is just changing the nature and feel of the game when most of the content recently released is moving away from the FREE part of the game and you even have dev's talking about making " hard or serious " choices when , not having money IS a serious matter and some in some less then inviting situations and countries have to deal with this fact every day .
Bad internet connections , power limitations / rationing in some situations just trump spending that money on a game where these people have to suffer REAL WORLD instances and problems .
Now you have more mechanics where it's not considered P2W but it's more or less P2get ahead where the game would be more stressful and time consuming for those who don't have the funds to support themselves , much less this game . These same who looked at this game as a form of entertainment now look at it like a heavily weighted task , no one knows the shelf life of this game , FF told of moving in a different direction ( which I'm sure is the main goal ) but just like FF where you had people spending money for a event where they were truly disrespected because the powers that be KNEW what was planned / what was about to happen but they told people to come to the event to hear the news about Dust and got slapped in the face , this seems like a money grab to get the most that can / could be had ... only to lift expectations and have those same dashed against a rock .
No discussion of the direction of this game , no discussion about legion and really no talk about any issue or matter until the release date for the next patch and even then , the topic is the patch ... not the direction of the game , what's expected or to come .
It just seem very misleading to say the least .
This is just not moving in a direction of balance .... one's wallet direct the path that's taken for the most part .
Doubts are like flies and should be treated as such and crushed .
