So after playing a few matches today i've noticed that redline camping is actually worse than it was before. In the last 10 matches I've played there were at least 8-10 people redline sniping. Matches are decided within 5 minutes because of this bullshit.
CCP I know the redline is there to protect noobs, but the only thing it's protecting right now is scrub tanker and sniper kdrs. This along with the AFK-ing has to stop. People are actually leaving battle when this happens and that makes the battle less interesting
Any thoughts on how to stop redline camping and AFK-ing? |

Any thoughts on how to stop redline camping and AFK-ing? Move the redline back, keep the objectives where they are.
I may be missing something, but I'm pretty sure that I didn't call for a tank nerf before Uprising 1.7. - Atiim

If you look on some of the maps you will notice that some of the teams spawn points are actually not in the red line. These tend to be the ones that spawner points you towards at the beginning.
I have on more than one occasion spawn camped the afk spawners.

How do you spawncamp afk-ers in the MCC? And you said it right "some of the spawn points" |

Never said anything about mcc. Although you can fly a dropship into one and kill them that way. :)

There are two simple fixes, but you need balls to do that : - 0 ISK and 0 SP while in the redline - At least triple ISK payout per WP |

First option would be unfair on a team being relined. 0 passive ISK or WP when in the redline on the other hand is less unfair and encourages the team being redlined to push back.
But, we also need to be able to see exactly where the redline is on our own side- it's sometimes difficult to tell. |

You're right, I wanted to say passive ISK and SP in the redline = 0, I forgot the passive lol. For he redline awareness you point out an important problem. It should be pretty easy for CCP to implement a green or blue line to represents your spawn area on the map. |

As usual, another knee jerk reaction to a problem. And, as usual, no intelligent solutions will be proposed because, once again, no one is going after the REAL problem. COMBAT AVOIDANCE.
alot of new players will snipe from the red line. The maps are vast, and its not always easy to know where the combat is happening and where enemies might appear from. The moment you try to look for combat, 6 people kill you out of nowhere. Until you know the map, the sparsely populated flanks is the safest best to learn them.
Even players that have been around for awhile, know the maps and movements pretty well, and have enough ISK to bear bigger losses...arent going to push for no reason. If were down to 48 clones compared to 115 for the enemy, and theres only half the armor left on the MCC, its for sure im going to spend my time in a auxiliary role. Burning ISK like that only delays the inevitable. Ill man a useless turret or do some sniping myself.
I wouldnt even have to redline snipe or AFK; I could stick a uplink on the roof of some useless out of the way building and snipe from there, I could find a room in an out of the way installation and set some remote mines around me, and sit on the trigger in the off chance anyone comes looking. Take a dropship up to the ceiling, man a useless turret, ect. If people want to AVOID COMBAT but get paid anyway, they will. The idea is not to introduce all kinds of new game mechanics to catch the chronic MCC AFKers. They can be dealt with through reports.
if you want to fix the real problem, fix matchmaking and game balance. You get one team that is vastly more powerful than the other team, they get redlined in 5 minutes...there is no incentive to push. There is no incentive to take losses in a futile effort.

There isn't enough players to make matchmaking and balance better, figure out a way to add 5k players and it would fix 99% of the problems.
To fix AFK and redline sniping then just as a captcha to the game that pops up after 30s in the MCC and a random time between one and two minutes in the redline. Don't enter the captcha or enter it in wrong three times and the merc is kicked with no pay or SP/WP. If the merc correctly enters the captcha on more than three occasions then the merc is kick with pay but no SP. It is an easy fix but I doubt CCP will do it and players would flood these forums with tears.
