How satisfied are people with the aim assist in the game? Am I alone in feeling that it helps a little too much? I realize it can be turn on or off.
I always get the feeling, when rifle balance is discussed, that aim assist, and how it reacts to different weapons, is rarely considered. Have you guys noticed how weapons with kick and weapons without are affected differently? And single shot/burst weapons vs fully automatic weapons also benefit from aim assist differently because of how they are used? |

AA is much better now than it was when first released.

When you say better, do you mean it is more present? Or less over bearing? |

less noticable.
Most of the people who start screaming about AA nowadays utter stupid things, like "AA on the HMG makes it OP!"
Never mind the assumption that sniper rifles and forge guns benefit from aim assist. |

Well there's the bullet magnetism which is just ridiculous. If someone's running horizontally in front of me I can aim 1 - 3 meters behind them with my rail rifle, and all the rounds will hit and kill them.

When first released, Aim Assist was too effective. They've since dialed it back quite a 'bit.

I think the AA is in a good place to be honest. I wouldn't say the magnetism is overly powerful and compensates well for the general inaccuracy a DS3 provides for fine aiming.
There are a few times it has been painfully obvious it is on. At 30/40m from an enemy I have noticed my cross-hair will "lock" onto them without any input from me if I am standing still. It doesn't draw me to them, but if they strafe my sights will wobble as the magnetism kicks in.
Nothing OP, but makes it noticeable on such occasions. |

Well, do you feel that aim assist directly counters position lag, in that case?
I am actually a keyboard/mouse user. Extremely often when tracking a moving target, I will see blue shields flare up but no damage applied. I can only assume it is position lag. However when I pick up a controller, I only VERY RARELY see the blue shield flare up without damage being applied. Often I think I am just crazy, but I wanted to hear others' opinions on it. |
