If Project Legion becomes something more than a prototype, we will not leave our DUST 514 players behind. You would be able to bring your character name, applicable skills/inventory, and other elements of progression with you. We are still working on the details and we will have more to announce soon.
Legion will be on PC; Dust is through the PSN.
How do we actually know who's who without having to use PSN logins for Legion?

They could send the PSN user an email (the one registered to the PSN ID), and have them confirm their identity.

You know those characters are stored into a database linked to an account, its not rocket science to have them transfered to a new account in your name through the same PSN email to anorher game.
Or something close to that...

Doesn't seem like an issue. They're already able to send us emails to redeem newsletter rewards. They can confirm identities through those.
That said: I hope the game dies a horrible, painful and expensive death . . . . . .
Kind Regards,

Eve players will probably throw buckets of money at it.
Last time I played, I had 2 friends who played eve doing orbital support in FW. Apparently they get shitloads of LP just for firing.

Basically all ccp has to do is send a character verification code to your email. You log into your ccp account on pc and plug in the character ID code to associate your character with your account.
Done. PC interface options are easy as hell. If you were talking about transferring the characters to say... x-bone?
Probably harder. |

The same way you are able to login to the forums through PSN can be used to login to legion for the first time and claim your account which is then given access to your characters in the exact way Eve gains access to their characters.
It is as simple as putting an update email/pwd page for your account locked behind the exact same PSN login script that we use to get on the forums.

Basically this. CCP is already using PSN's API to let people log in with their PSN and access these forums on their website. Similarly, you can access the help ticket system and stuff on dust514.com. All they need to do, is add a character transfer page to the logged in area at http://dust514.com/user and have you create your new account from that page.
CPM1 Elect. Thanks for all your support. [email protected] for ideas, thoughts, and feedback.

"through" is the main word here

I mean the username and password we're logging in with is all through Sony. Characters may be in CCP's servers, but there's currently no way to access them without the PSN login info.

Hence the "its not rocket science, its account transfer"
You log into PSN, this PSN points to your account on TQ, there is nothing hard about removing the PSN side of it because it literally does not control anything.
All they need to do is to make you log into PSN once and then ask you to give a new password for the same email you use for PSN and boom, job done, theres your new way to access your characters.
This isnt a hard concept
