Are you guys running out of ammo a lot because there is such a large population of heavies in the game now?
I am unloading a full CR clip and 13 SCP rounds into these heavies and it still doesn't take them down. I am astounded at the amount of ammo required to drop these guys.

I would just like to point out that 28*54 = 1512, and 13*80 = 1040, for a total of 1512+1040 = 2552.
Most heavies don't have more than 1500-1700 EHP, even the bricked Amarr vs CR.
I think your problems are somewhat deeper than the heavy EHP.

That is all optimum range. You do know that in battle, especially against a tacky glue death ray that sticks you to the floor as soon as you get hit, you have to take some shots out of range. I generally try to start off with a few ADS SCP head shots, but you know that heavies can turn around faster than I can take them out, which requires maneuvering in and out of optimum range for either weapon.
I'd like to stack about 4 complex damage mods, but I don't have the slots.
It really sucks when supply depots get blown away.

Your optimal for the pistol is the same as the HMG's, and assuming you're using your weapon combination optimally you'll be dealing over 1200 damage with it across the magazine. A headshot will strip at least a sixth of a heavy's EHP.
A combat rifle has an optimal range of like 60m; you should be dealing plenty enough damage to kill a heavy with it.
In the end I don't really feel like this is a problem.

There are a lot more Logis now, but they aren't really logis for the team.
They are mostly drones that follow around heavies and perma rep them.

Yes, I run out of ammo all the time, but even faster now that the fields are saturated with fat boys. What's the most effective weapon against heavies. It's probably time for me to spec into a new weapon. Mass Driver?

The most effective weapon against a heavy is two mercenaries pelting a heavy with projectiles. We throw grenades just for the party too.

I don't intend to be rude, but please don't write GOML if you can't solo a heavy. Thanks for the tip, but I am a total loser and run lone wolf.
I agree, swarming heavies is the best plan, but in the heat of battle I often end up mono e mono.

Definite problem, as it's not only heavy eHP: it's the fact that sentinels can't carry nanohives, so they steal from everyone else's.
I actually ran out of ammo and nanohives with my plasma cannon today due to heavy mooches.

Just keep a cooldown on repair WP bonuses, if you put an overheat or 'cooldown' effect on repair tools, that'll be just... Words cant describe how it'll affect repair Logis... |

No one should be able to solo a heavy because its a heavy. A point defender. It is built to withstand much damage than your medium to light counterparts.
So GOML is appropiate. Basically, I understand that a heavy is powerful and respect it. And that shows in how I engage a heavy.
Also, disengaging from a 1 on 1 is something that falls on deaf ears with most players. That's how you stay alive in Dust, knowing when to fight and when to run like hell. |

I agree that heavies are bad mofos, and I'm not saying that they are OP or anything. I also agree with carefully selecting targets to engage. I'm simply stating that I run alone, and I'm looking for the most ammo-effective way to dispense of heavies for a lone wolf, since the battlefields are teeming with them.
Of course, my favorite tactic is simply to squash them with a drop ship when I get the chance to do so, but that isn't always the most expedient method.

Yet the tactic can be still used. Positioning is key. If I shoot at a heavy and grab his attention, meaning he gives chase, then I position myself outside of his optimal range. I aim for his head to make sure the shots hurt. I use high/low advantages, hills, support structures and blues to my advantage. I use a grenade to soften up his defenses. Or I lead him to a group of other players where we stand to fire upon him.
There are so many ways. You have to creatively defeat your opponent. Slow and steady is better than speed kills. Incrementally destroy your opponent. |

I don't want a hard nerf obviously but that's just ridiculous that it doesn't have an amount of nanites that can be emmited before it had to recharge (reload).
and of course it's unlimited, just needs to recharge after sustained use.
