Here is the thing. This game has been slowly becoming a game where the only time I'm not happy is glitch, bug, lag, or any other kind of abuse and exploitation. Rail tanks that are hill glitching, sniper who hill glitch, the random invincibility thing, etc are about the only thing left in the game that just owns me. Other than that I win a reasonable number of 1 on 1's, have a strong W/L ration given how many random squads and ambush matches I do and have a reasonable K/D given my playstyle.
I'm not the best player nor have I done everything in the game but i've accomplished a reasonable amount of tasks that I set out to do. I've tried to challenge myself recently but none of the other type of fits really appeal to me. About two weeks ago I started exploring cooking and using grenades effectively and I believe I have become quite good at. Actually, I think Proto Grenades are OP. The right timing and taking out 3 or 4 people at the same time is just sick.
My question is:
Can you beat the game? Can it just be kind of over? Do I just buy a 30 day passive booster and come back in 1.8 hoping for another game entirely like how it felt from 1.6 to 1.7? Did you beat the game? What consitutes you beating the game? How would you quantify it? |

I've got BPO's waiting for me to use everytime I log in, having a decent amount of SP I can use ALL of them to jump into whatever role I see fit
Assassin's Creed is a game you beat, even episodic ones like Tt's the walking dead you can "beat"
I don't EVER wanna beat Dust 514
TRUE it could be so much more
but patience is a virtue and if you are feeling impatient or look at this game, and feel that it's going nowhere, that's the best sign you should take a break.
If someone beats Dust lemme know pls

I'm just going to play a lot less. I have been getting a bit frustrated a bit too easily lately. I'll have 10 games in a row without a glitch and then all of the sudden 50% of my shots fired do zero damage and I get all ragey.
I'm just going to be playing less but I wanted to see others thoughts while I'm at work waiting for someone to actually have work for me to LOL |

I know someone in my corp that beat it...it's over. It's like a guy that has 6% body fat and is super fit but doesn't compete in anything. He beat the gym. It's over, he doesn't have to go there anymore. |

You know I've been thinking about the problems you've described to me, and I seriously don't get any of the problems you seem to be experiencing. This leads me to think that maybe this is something that is happening on your end. Do you protforward? Are you using a wireless connection? How good is your Internet?
You should check into these things maybe one of these could end up solving some of your problems.

I live in hawaii so the internet sucks. Obviously I have NAT but no pf and it is wireless on an apple wireless device (i cannot change). Maybe it really is the network portion on my side and I should investigate it BUT I've seen in other parts of the forum others having the random invincibility issue. Maybe we all just have crappy internet...sigh. |

Other than people being invincible when they spawn, this almost NEVER happens to me. I have had this happen maybe five time since hit detection got fixed back in 1.6. I don't know what to tell you man. I wish there was some way I could help you get this sorted, but I just am not experiencing this, and don't know what it could be other than what I suggested. I think you should talk to your provider. Maybe something can be done, if it maters enough to you.

What's wrong with you? This anecdote was meant to be slightly humerous in light of that fact I am not that into the game anymore. Why do you have to bash and bully based on something that doesn't exist (i.e. QQ'ing)?
Get some help man. Go listen to avril lavigne in the corner and cry about how you can't spell or articulate a point correctly nor read a statement well enough. Maybe use that help to learn to make a joke instead of beinga **** on a forum.

Hum, had another idea Eko. Did you Delete and reinstall before you down loaded 1.8? If not you should try a complete reinstall. I always do this before every patch. It's worth a try.

Yeah, Since I rent a room from these guys I can't change too many things. I'm gonna try to talk him into getting a better wireless router. I'll even pay for it. I know that can make a huge difference. I guess this is the first time I've experienced a lag type issue of this kind of scale. |

I'll clean out all of the associated Dust files and reinstall. Maybe that can be causing some of the issue. Appreciate the advice Son. Gonna look into some options. Also going to pursue the solid state drive thing. Gotta do some more research on how it impacts other games first though.
Good to here, and I hope that things get sorted proper for you. Good luck.

Imperfects were the first ones to "Beat" dust, look at them now. They came, they saw, they conquered , most of them left.
EoN effectively "Beat" dust by dominating PC and controlling I think 95% of MH before they left/broke apart. Those corps that are left and are still in EoN are a shell of their former selves. Most of the players have found new homes, and it begins again. Perhaps a little more even in terms of total corp skill now that they aren't all blued up.
TP just Que-syncs and proto stomps with the rest of their like minded individuals who prefer to totally dominate and get an easy win rather than have a challenging fight (Or its a Que-synced TP and friends team against another squad or two, top corp kind of game and us blues just get in the way and (Honestly) hinder the performance of the better players due to having much lower SP, skill, knowledge, team play, whatever to compete against a full team of proto stomping skilled players with endless wallets.) Really that's more of a matchmaking issue.
It could be argued that NS is close to "Beating" dust since they control 25% of MH in PC, this is largely due to them attacking and stomping lesser corps who are just starting to break into PC, and then locking their districts so the other top corps cant take it away from them. Really that's more of an exploit abuse issue.
With no actual "leveling system", the only way that I can see for us low to average, and maybe even the slightly above average skilled players to "Beat" dust would be to simply finish building our characters to the point that we have nothing else we wish to change, and then either start down another path, or move on. Especially if we don't end up becoming one of the chosen and get into a top corp where we can advance even further. |

Judging by the trend of how people disappear from the game, you need to make it into Imperfects or Teamplayers to have Platinum Trophied DUST.
Once people do that, they've beaten the game and they tend to stop playing.
You're required to do an occasional stomp through FW, however, just to remind people that the corps still exist.
