Put the war points you need to get out of the academy back at 10k. 1200 is too low. People can get out of the academy after the first battle just because they can get some kills but not really understand how the game works. Also, make a training place to like yeah then the controls, tactics and what you're suppose to do in each game mode. Please, just please

I would like to support this move.
I am utterly crap at this game and not only am I up against a massive learning curve which seems designed to drive me from the game but I feel that I am a hinderance to those in my team when I am in a battle for real.
So, please, for my sake, the sake of the enjoyment of the better players and for the game overall I would like this to be so.
And, again, I do apologise for being a lead weight and useless when out in the field.

Why not make it a two step? First at 1500 something and final at 10k. That way day old newbies and week old newbies are separated from each other. Maybe 10k is a bit on the high side though. 5k might be enough. Sofar I think my tally is 1800 something and I really suck at killing people.

Like Scotty who actually does stuff? I agree. But it was 10k in beta, I don't think they should have changed it. Between 5 & 10k I would say

I'd support bumping it up to 20k, or 30k. It took me about that long to understand the game, and then something clicked, and a whole new universe (called New Eden) opened up to me.
EDIT: Of course, I started in Beta, where none of the racial stuff was really explained...

I've only been on this for over a month and I loved the academy battles but I only played like 5 until I met hell. Besides the only advantage I would have would be knowing the rules. I still suck at this game if I don't have a squad.

After running a few contracts yesterday, I doublechecked my WPs and it sits just over 5000 now. And yesterday I avereged ca 500 points per contract and that was quite a step up for me. But the problem I see with the transition from academy to public is the feeling of doing ok in academy to being brainstomped in public. It would be great to have a somewhat smoother transition, like a steppingstone up. But the question would be how you would determin who should be fighting who, age in game, WP, SP, number of contracts played? I dont know....

I'm 13 but I'm better than some adults. I think matchmaking was intended to put us in battles against others with around the same sp as you.

I think he meant age of character, how long it has existed. I'd have to agree though, age is no determining factor, I'm 36 and still occasionally get stomped by 10 year olds.

Yeah, the age I was thinking was of the the character, but I think the best way todo some kind of matchmaking that actually works is with WPs, but then again you could have millions of sp but no wp...

In a week of constant play, you can achieve 50k WP easily, with only the 1 day booster CCP gives you.
Raise it to 50k already. You'll have happier players and more players on the long run. I can even do some damage with STD gear with minimal SP investement after a week of woop ass. |

I am of the opinion that graduation from the academy occurs WAY too early. I think the number needs to go up significantly. 50k sounds about right, but even 25k or even 10k would really help.
Either that, or (a) better matchmaking for inexperienced clones, (b) some type of introduction to the nuances of battle/weapons as in the COD series, and/or (c) PvE.
Otherwise, this game will continue to experience retention challenges, as throwing noobs into the grinder is resulting in too many people giving up the game in frustration because they simply die too frequently. |

- Terminus Don't be so hard on yourself man, the only problem is when 8-11 people on your team are complete noobs
Everyone had to deal with the huge learning curve, everyone got over it and many went far beyond it.
Just keep trying, the game is well worth it once you've learned what you need to.
