So if i shoot my proto blaster at a shield tank with one hardener activated then it continues to rep while i'm shooting. Is this because there is a minimum damage requirement for shield tanks passive reps to stop. I was wonder if anybody can get me confirmation on this.
So if this is the case would a damage modded (1 damage mod) proto blaster stop the reps of a shield tank (passive reps) with one hardener activated.
-Thanks in advanced

I'd like to know how this is supposed to work too, one time my dropship started taking fire from a blaster installation (no hardeners active) and the shield regen just kept going, overpowering the blaster's damage |

I'm going to assume yes.
Though I do understand why they added this feature (To stop people from prevent shield regeneration due to small arms fire, such as Assault Rifle).
If so, then it does need to be reduced. Hardener or no hardener; you should not be able to completely repair through something designed to destroy you.

Well It would be nice to know the exact number of damage needed to stop shield regen first, inda hard to guestimate without it. |

What is 60% of 136 (proto blaster)
81.6, this is how much damage get's negated
54.4 is how much get's through (range also plays a part in this)
So yeah, what happens if they pop another hardeners on, you do even less.
54 is like a proto weapon of certain kinds.

From what it sounds like you met a shield tank running more than 1 hardener. That is my assumption at least since i've run a shield tank before with 3x hardeners and my passive shield rep goes back up even under that high of dps. Visually though you don't see the other 1-2 hardeners being activated either since (from my experience) they all have the same animation so it doesn't add another layer of visuals just the resistence goes up.
Blasters are not ment to be AV weapons either. A viable weapon against other tanks, but not optimal. |

This is also a good point for a Plasma Cannon buff. Because your shields can come back 75% by the time the shooter has reloaded.

Blasters are anti-infantry. The high amount of damage they do allows them to destroy vehicles and installations in a pinch, but the weapons that are designed for AV are the Railgun and the Large Missile.
A vehicle should be able to shrug off an anti-infantry weapon. |
