Fin whales are also served to tourists. Put into dog food and used as fuel in the ships hunting whales. These whales are almost extinct. 135 where killed last year in iceland. Above the law. |

Your point being?
Most countries kill cows, pigs, sheep etc. to get meat.
Meat that science over and over again has proven to be redundant and extremely harmful to the enviroment to produce.
The nutrition that comes from meat is readily available in a shitload of completely plant based sources. You can get all the proteins you need by eating nuts, quorn, soy-based products etc.
Yet for some reason people aren't willing to give up eating meat (I know I sure won't being the proud and shameless carnivore that I am). So unless you, mr trolling threadposter aren't willing to give up eating meat and dairy products to adopt a full blown vegan lifestyle then you're just being a hypocrite crying about other countries who happen to kill animals that you have some sortof irrational soft spot for as a source of food.

99 % av all animal species that have ever lived on planet earth are extinct. You think humans and our way of life kills a lot of animal species? Then you haven't seen anything. Take a look at the dinosaurs and their ascent to being on the top of the foodchain. Do you have any idea how many species of plants and animals they extinguished? Compared to them, we're innocent saints in that regard.
So if the dinosaurs didn't give a **** about how many species of life they exterminated, then why should we? Can you present a logical and scientific response to that?
So you do sidejobs f+¦r Peta you say? The same Peta who funds and sponsors terrorists and vandals while also being huge hypocrites themselves?
If you're trying to claim some sort of moral high ground here then exposing your good relationship with Peta doesn't really help your case.

Illegal where?
You do know that different countries have different laws right? International treaties are just a pipedream for the naive. You can't enforce any international "laws" unless you're willing to go to war over them (which no country is willing to do).
I care about the planet I live on. That doesn't mean I care about every insignificant little piece of biomatter clinging to the surface on it (including you and your precious whales). |

Here is a question. How many of the people who are illegally poaching whales are actually Icelandic in origin? A lot of such poachers often go to other countries with relaxed laws in order to do their business.

Dinosaurs were not conscious enough to make rational, intelligent decisions.
Its funny because we are able to make those decisions but it all comes to caring and our current system works on profit vs loss. Human life is an acceptable risk vs profit sadly.
I have been to sri Lanka and seen the fallout of our current system and its shocking, guys begging yet wearing full Gucci and Prada because they make it there so its worth buttons.

How dare you make such assumptions! Where were you educated, France??? No, its all to do with brain size and shape. Not an assumption.
So then pack mentality of such dinosaurs as raptors was instinctual? Genuinely curious about this one.

All depends but judging by the predators they'd have faced during that period and the size of their prey I'd say yes as they'd have needed to be in packs to survive and to kill their prey.

We do not really take anything. There is really no we. All things are part of a holonic system. Every thing that happens is entropic.

Even the stance of fighting for the environment is only to benefit our children. Its like being Christian. We calculate how will this effect me against how much effort it will take to change it. humans seem out of place in the larger scheme of things. like viruses seem out of place in the human body. Trust me everything is as it should be.

I see what you are saying but it just seems as irresponsible as you could get. We are intelligent enough to actually think about things and change for the better.
And I do hope you don't apply that logic to things like genocide or killing endangered species.

The thing about humans is we can construct morality and feel a certain way about it. Its all rather meaningless, except to those who accept it and give it their own meaning. Does it matter to the cosmos? Does it matter to a bum living under a bridge? How about Obama? You would think if it was important someone would get off their fat ass and stop it. The truth is most people cant be bothered to do anything more than complain about it.

Here is a thought. We have the technology to make any element into gold, but we don't because it costs too much.

Yeah, after my last comment I started thinking this convo has reached the level of meaningless crap lol, the next step to finalise its pointlessness would be to argue about it, not that I see that happening.
