I doubt this trailer is aimed at new players. This is more for people who have played Dust but since left. It expects you to know what is already in Dust since it only shows new things (and not the flashy new things that would draw people, like PvE).
Edit:
Once we get all the racial suits, cloaking is implemented, and the heavies get Gal and Amarr heavy weapons, CCP should create 4 trailers each showing off the different faction's ground combat styles while throwing in bits of lore.
