931.76 dmg/sec from the Imperial Scrambler Rifle without damage mods and without the % bonus from the specialization.
1,071.5 dmg/sec with spec 5. With damage mods...I'm trying not to think about that.
Semi-Auto weapons should NOT have the same ROF as their full auto variant. With an auto-controller the semi weapon fires just as quickly (beyond what a human is capable of) but each shot does more then twice the damage.
This design encourages players to find creative ways of making the weapon preform to its maximum potential.
Seeing the scores of this play style in the ranges of 30-40 / 0 indicates an imbalance.
If it's by design and working as intended is exploitation of this being encouraged? |

Turbo controllers make this kind of a waste for weapons and I completely agree that it is annoying as hell to see people using exploits like that. I spent 20 bucks on a modified controller so Im automatically better with this weapon against someone my equal.
Dedicated scout. Because the suit is underpowered. Imagine the good ones when we get buffed people ;)

However, unlike the TAR, modded controllers must deal with overheat as well. This is the limiting factor, although I have a suggestion to ease your burden.
Suppose we increase heat buildup, meaning one shot uses more heat, but to compensate for players who aren't cheating, slightly reduce cooldown time? Modded controllers get overheat fast, us normal users can still use them as tey are, albeit we would get less panic shots before overheat. But as a scrambler user, I can accept this small nerf to my playstyle in the name of curtailing cheating. |

We don't need to make any complicated changes to the weapon. Just reduce the ROF from 705.88 to 400 which is where the Breach Assault riffle is.
You can't press the button to fire 705.88 times a minute. It's not physically possible. Dropping it to 400 would create a marginal difference for people actually using this as a semi-auto weapon. It would only affect those using auto-controllers.
The problem is the rate of fire (ROF) so that's all that needs to be fixed. |

You can bypass the overheat function if you know what your doing. It's an easy glitch and everyone knows how to do it.

It's an easy glitch and everyone knows how to do it. A glitch. Exactly. Outside the intended performance. Balancing performance based on a glitch is asinine. The only glitch that CCP has balanced things around is the vehicle armor rep glitch, and that was due to the massive imbalance between vehicles and AV. A very exceptional circumstance. Which is subsequently being corrected with the vehicle rebalance. It was a temporary measure. |
