So I had a bad start on this game but now that I understand it ALMOST completely I have a good understanding about everything. So I was originally meant to be a Minm. sniper but then I heard of Logistics. I currently have a littile over 3Mill. Lifetime. Is anyone out there a good Logi and has a better understanding of which is a better Logi? Im having a hard time choosing between Minm. and Gallente logi. (I like scrambler rifles) im only level 1 in my Minmatar Logi suits so I have a chance to go gallente. But overall anyone help? |

Never use a Duvolle because people will rage when you get a kill. Never tank because they will rage also. Be a medic and never use remote explosives or uplinks. Heal everyone you see even if they don't need it because the assaults will think your useless if you aren't doing anything or killing people. Also, spam rep hives.

Depends on your playstyle.....Min logi's are good for solo work, then when you happen to meet up with a group, you give them some logistics lovin'. But the Gallente's logi bonus is ideal for carrying the best equipment and sticking with a group, giving full time support. And if you ever get bored being logistics, you can just fit it with damage mods and armor plates to be an assault without a sidearm.
Neither of them is any better than the other using the ScR.
Been Logistics since before it was cool.

Squad up. First thing to do is run with a squad. Help out others along the way, but a well run squad, especially if you have comm with them, makes things so much easier.
Do not worry about getting war points. If you truly want to be a logibro, nothing beyond the survival of your squad, and team, should matter. Trust me, the wp will come. In droves. Just don't go out of the way for it.
Don't run the militia or standard needle just to farm wp. This ties in to the rule above. Your job is not to earn wp for yourself. It is to keep your squad and team alive. Therefore, use advanced needles , and proto if you got the money to spend. That said, don't sweat it if you cant fit an advanced needle. Just make it somewhat of a priority to upgrade it.
A suggestion, especially if your rolling with a squad, is spec into active scanners. Even standard ones will do most of the time, unless a scout has dampeners. On the battlefield, the best defense we have is intel on the enemy. Stand in a safe spot 9relatively safe) close to your squad, and throw scans up for them. Scans only show up for a squad, so if you're alone, you can drop the scanner for something else.
After your equipment slots are filled, Priority Number Two is tank. Fit the best tank you can possibly run. Get your CPU and powergrid upgrades up to fit more tank. If your squadmates go down, your there to pick them up. If you go down, your hosed. Also, you may have to cross dangerous terrain to reach a downed squadmate. Make sure you have the hp to get there.
Do not worry about your weapon too much. Do not fit damage mods, or worry about an advanced or proto weapon, unless EVERYTHING ELSE is up to snuff. Your job is not to kill, it is to provide logistics. Indeed you will need to kill, and kill often, but only to protect your squadmates, or clear an area to go back and revive and heal people. Therefore, a standard weapon will serve you well, and free up CPU and PG to fit better equipment, or more tank.
Above all else, it's a mindset. Many people use logi equipment to farm wp, and some wont rep you if you don't give wp anymore. Some use logis extra CPU/PG and slots to fit "SlayerLogis" and go on massive killing sprees. Some of us (like me) Genuinely like being the logi. My goal in every squad I play is to make us spend the least amount of isk buying new gear, and make the enemy spend the most they have ever spent. I run with a needle, repper, and scanner, And I spend a majority of the game throwing up active scans, reviving people, and repping. I may get only 3-4 kills in a match, I may get 15-16, but I do not pay attention to that. My goal is my squad, and helping them accomplish our mission.
Anyway, just some things I thought of on the fly. Follow them as you will. |

Minmatar logi is an awesome suit that can be very versatile for both supporting your squad directly and doing solo work when needed... TBH, from what I've seen, Gallente logi is the easier choice (more low slots to fit more tank easily, particularly if you're only working with std/adv modules, shield extenders really only become good at proto, and the suit bonus makes it easier to fit, obviously). I wouldn't give up my Minnie logi for it regardless.
You'll obviously get the most out of your logi suit and be the most helpful to your team running in squads, and because of this it is useful to have various fits that you pick from depending on the situation and what your squad needs and already has covered. You don't necessarily need everyone in the squad running scanners, for instance
Like others said, scanners are good, as intel is always good in this game. Add getting adv scanners to your list (eventually, of course, when you can afford it), the adv quantum is a great scanner for most situations. Even when running solo, it doesn't hurt to know enemy positions, even if the rest of the team doesn't directly benefit from the scans.
Uplinks are good, and definitely needed in domination especially, a Minnie logi can be one of the better suits for getting uplinks down near the objective/behind enemy lines/into flanking position fast (though this is greatly helped by speccing into biotic skills and possibly dampening), whch in many cases can completely turn a game around. Even in ambushes (particularly on the larger maps) it is often a good idea to simply have a link on you that you can throw down when needed to enable a respawning squadmate to get back to the squad more reliably than just using random spawn.
If you end up being your squad's designated medic, who'll need to pick people up and run a rep tool, sometimes in hairy situations, I recommend going for as much tank as possible and go light on damage mods. On the other hand, if your squad has other logis sharing the duties, it is not necessarily a bad idea to run a more damage oriented fit, if nothing else to add variety to your game play.
And in general, as almost everyone armour tanks now, rep hives are brilliant... Not just for healing others, they really can save your live in many crappy situations a logi can end up in, just trying to do a logi's job

They are almost identical, but the min logi gets a hack bonus (I use min logi) and has 1 less low slot, 1 more high slot, less base health, but higher base speed (which can come in handy when repping someone, or really just supporting your team. Gallente logi is probably going to be nerfed though because of the insane amount of armor tank you can get. I would say the minmatar logistics is your better bet. Just make sure to tank both armor and shields.

Minmatar Logi Pros -Fast -Hacking Bonus -Lots of modules and equipment -All three tiers are effective Cons -Not the best in combat -More expensive to fit -Despite being minmatar is very hard to shield fit
Amarr Logi Pros -Only logi with a sidearm -Large base ehp and extra bonus to armor repair -Most combat efficient Cons -STD suit has very little use. -Slowest medium suit
Gallente Logi Pros -5 low slots at proto -Best support logi with reduction to equipment cost -Can stack armor like no other Cons -Lack of shielding means armor is more vulnerable -Not as mobile with the extra armor.
Caldari Logi Pros -Highest module slot count in the game (5 highs 4 lows) -Only actual logi suit you can properly shield tank -Good movement speed Cons -Lowest cpu/pg of all logi suits means having to take up a low slot for a cpu or pg module -Logi bonus is not that useful (bonus to shield regulators) -The prototype tier is 100x better than the std and adv suits.

I'd say Minlogi(only Logi I have) because of the balanced H/L slot when proto. I have a basic but this is what I have on my main Logi.
2 enhanced armor plates 2 shield extenders(can't remember if they were both basic or one basic and one enhanced) GLU-5 Tactical AR Flux Grenades Adv Scanner Std Hives Stable Uplinks
You can AssaultLogi if you want. The TAC is beautiful for this suit. Or legit Logi. I assaultlogied with it(yeah yeah not good but I'm an Assault player first so it felt natural to do work). With the TAC you can knock any incoming enemies out before they get too close.
One day I put one spawn in the back of the new map for Domination. The wide open one not that one in the research lab. Then I let my two squads head to where all the action was at while I scanned and killed any flankers, snipers and etc. wind up going 22 14 2. Won't happen again but haha it was nice. |

If you want killer-logi, then proceed to the ** area. For a regular support logi, read on.
For earning constant WP, you should get a proto rep tool and put it on all your fits. I prefer Six-Kin Triage for boosted dropsuit rep and dual beams. If you have adv or better hives you can watch WP roll in as you get Resupply, Triage and Guardian points as you help your squad/team hold an area. The critical point is that you will likely not kill many people this way, as far as having 1-12 k-d matches (all the while topping the WP leaderboard), because you can't shoot with a rep tool in your hands. So don't ever follow bad players or light suits since heavies are your friends (and 2 heavies with constant rep will make your life easier than you can imagine). Once you earn faster, you can improve faster. Better your suit in order to fit a better piece of equipment on it and eventually you will have a pretty well stocked and outfitted logi without sacrificing too much along the way. Only after you can keep everyone else alive and kicking do you need to start spending on damage mods and the like.
*Also, you are improving Hives and injectors at the same time with nanocircuitry ability. You don't get more points for a proto revive, but it helps the team more and that is the reason you shoulda picked a logi in the first place.
** for slayer fits ignore everything but nanocircuitry (hives to keep you alive and firing) and focus on mods like damage, repairers, extenders, regulators, plates, etc. As well as, and honestly most important, becoming highly proficient in whatever weapon you choose and this is singular since you only have 1 weapon slot (barring Amarr, in which case you are already using a laser-based weapon as your primary, so you may want to sidearm a bit).
EDIT: Minmatar if you wanna carry some Equip and have hacking bonuses (more lone wolf?) Amarr if you want a sidearm and Laser weapon bonuses (med-long distance logi...sorta) Caldari if you want a skirmishing mix of what most people think an Assault suit should be while having Logi versatility. (pew, pew, pew) Gallente (my personal favorite) if you want to carry a mountain of Proto equipment into a battlefield at once without using as much CPU/PG. (equipment WP *****) |
