The new maps are great, but they're also big, big enough to field 48 people at once. The original excuse was to reduce playercount to make it easier for smaller corps in PC. So keep 16v16 in PC, make it 24v24 in everything else. Heck why not have both and make it an option for selecting matches? |

Patience.
They've had enough trouble getting stuff working smoothly with 16 v. 16-- and it's still not quite there yet (framerate crash on object-cluttered screens). If they expand match size and we drop back to Uprising 1.0 -level performance, it'll be about a dozen shades of bad.
This game doesn't need more bruises. Let's be gentle with our feature-addition, please. |

CCP Praetorian said in his last interview that engine improvements are a big focus for 1.6, and I'd be willing to bet those are aimed at getting stability to the point where they can finally bring up the player-count. |

They still say the game is 48 player on the main site http://dust514.com/game/ So, of course, they should immediately alter the fabric of reality so that DUST isn't burdened with lackluster coding (CCP's seemingly eternal bete noire) and an aging platform.
I do know that's not quite what you're saying, but it kind of comes off that way. Impatience doesn't strike me as changing much. This isn't what CCP hoped for-- what they promised, even to themselves-- and they know it at least as well as you and I. Harping about what DUST promised that it hasn't yet produced got old about eight months ago.
Raging at a for-profit company because it hasn't produced material worth giving them additional profits for is bluntly kind of redundant. CCP's never been bad with charts and graphs. Their bottom line is undoubtedly telling them plenty.
I'll wait, thanks, and see whether they can provide enough to keep me interested in the meantime. If so, great. If not, I'll wander off eventually. |
