Many people seem to think there is going to fighter dog fighting part of DUST... Jet's might become something a couple years from now. But as far as CCP development plan's as a company it probably won't be here immediately on DUST and the concept reworked.
E-VR EVE - valkyrie(virtual reality) is coming using the Occulus Rift. And if you aren't familiar with this device its worth checking out and the game... Epic.

I'm inclined to believe fighters WON'T come to DUST, and will strictly be a Valkyrie thing, judging by how vehicles have gone the past couple years. I can see them interacting with DUST and EVE, but requiring you to pick up Valkyrie if you'd like to fly them (which I imagine could also be on consoles, not just Occulus Rift. I wouldn't be the tiniest bit surprised, considering how often reality differs from CCPs vision. |

Valkyrie will be set in space with fighters being deployed from Carriers and all of these are already assets in EVE: Amarr Carrier, Amarr Fighter.
DUST jet fighters will be another thing entirely different, designed for planetary combat and deployed by RDVs as any other vehicle. I don't see a connection right now between the two. |

With fighters being on Carriers and Mothership's and costing around 20m each, I don't know how the EVE player is gonna foot the bill for someones careless piloting... Which leads me to believe they will make them more accessible throughout the galaxy.. possibly bringing them into DUST as an already working mechanic. |

That's just it, all the concept art done for DUST fighters have major resemblances to the actual fighters and bombers in EVE...

VR will not interact with dust, guarantee it. I believe VR will give you control of the drone ships laumched in eve! Allowing you to partake in fleet battle in an entirely new way! |

Isn't eve-Valkyrie being done in the UK? The tech demo was produced in Iceland. when they picked it up as an actual game I read they shipped the dudes out to Newcastle to join the dev crew there. |

I'd actually be quite surprised if EVR combat took place "on grid" with Eve battles. I suspect that the link would be via backstory; the EVR fighters (not drones) would be the same as fighters launched from Carriers in Eve, but would not be the fighters launched from those Eve player-piloted carriers. You would probably launch from NPC-controlled carriers. |

I'll pass on the "wrong" meme, and just quote CCP...

Didnt they say that Valkyrie will have much less depth and a looser connection to EVE than DUST has (lol)?
I imagine the speculation that it will be based in EVE but have almost no impact on the EVE players is correct. |

Prehaps aye, its just how I would link the 2, but you never know till it happens! I just guarantee it won't interact with dust! |

I really hope not...
With an immersive world combining all three games interacting in different way's... players would have a hard time leaving the New Eden galaxy... or looking for other games... or leaving their house |

I believe they said that Valkyrie was going to be SINGLE PLAYER ONLY. So that means it could be made far more quickly and without respect to EVE nor DUST's playstyles. Imagine being a Fighter in EVE Online. It would SUCK. Noww a Fighter in the EVE universe, unrelated to EVE Online. AWESOME. |

I never understood why CCP decided to take on more projects than it could handle.
Off the top of my head, CCP has had their hands in WoD, Valkyrie, Dust 514, and EVE Online; God forbid all of this funding came from EVE Online, and not used for EVE Online or Dust 514, but rather some little side project with employees that we could already use in a failing game such as Dust 514 (the minute CCP pushed back content in 1.5, marked the "last nail in the coffin" for MANY players, including myself).
Obviously CCP should take a look at Sony, and realize that being versatile does not always prove successful, as Sony's investors are telling them to "trim the fat" (such as taking down the Playstation department due to it's many deficits over the years). Perhaps CCP could learn a lesson, or just find out eventually for themselves. |

Also as stated EVE Valkyrie is planned as a stand-alone product and will not connect with EVE or Dust. |

It isn't stated anywhere it's a stand alone project.. they are still theory crafting how it will even fit into the New Eden universe...
the concept art and debut trailers of Fighters in DUST resemble the exact look of fighter hull's in EVE online... The assumption is not off...
E-VR is a way better medium to have fighters in the new Eden galaxy as active roles then DUST could ever do... or EVE itsself for that matter.
Aswell as give a direct means for competition to the FPS space sim that star citizen is building. As the Occulus rift add's more indepth gaming experience then any joystick and a monitor could. |
